5 Fun Activities To Keep You Healthy
If there is one thing none of us seem to have enough of it is time. Time with our families, time with our friends, and time to just do the things we want to do. We find ourselves trapped at our desks or stuck indoors doing tasks and soon we are tired and out of shape.
We are always looking for ways to save time. When we find a way to combine our duties so our time serves more than one purpose, we call it multitasking. It is not always easy to accomplish, but it also gives us more time to spend with those in our lives who really matter.
In this post, we are going to focus on some ways that you can be healthy, be active, and have fun. When your mental, physical, and emotional selves are in sync, you are open to letting others get close to you.
Fun Activities
- Join a gym
Joining a gym is a lot more fun than you may think. Many gyms (YMCA & YWCA) have indoor and outdoor pools. They have children’s pools and kids time, as well as childcare. As for you, enjoy getting in shape by swimming, strength training, and distance training.
Note: strength and distance training are done with weights, walking, or stationary bikes. You build muscle mass in layers like you would if you were training for a marathon.

- Dance
Join a dance class. There is no better way to stay active, have fun, and learn something new than to take on a new form of dance. You have a lot of dance styles to choose from. You can learn Ballet, Ball Room, Jazzercise, Hip Hop, or even Tap.
You can find high-quality dance clothes, dance bags, dance shoes, and any other dance gear you need at Just For Kix. This activity requires movement and eating protein for energy. This will make you feel good. You will love it!
- Plant a garden
You do not need a huge yard to plant a garden. You can plant fresh vegetables, herbs, berries, fruits, and/or flowers in your small yard or on your patio or garden.
Your activity level depends on what you plant and where you plant it. Remember, the success of your garden depends on you. So, you must give it all you’ve got.
- Get busy with the community
Do some checking in your community. What fundraisers do they have to help people? Is there a 5k walk for cancer? What annual events can you train for and be ready to help with? Get started. Make it a goal. Get some friends to join you and start preparing to participate in the next event. Hold each other up with support.
- Claim your dream
What is your dream? What have you always wanted to do, but now you think would look silly? If you still dream of doing it, who cares how it looks? Train, prepare and go for it. Ride your motorcycle across the Blue Ridge Parkway, Go scuba diving in the Bahamas, or parasailing in Hawaii.
The point is, you only go around this life once. If you take the time to be healthy, reward yourself by doing things that make you happy. What are you waiting for? Just go for it!
