6 Ways To Have Fun Inside This Winter

Winter is the most wonderful time of year.  The snow makes everything seem quiet and magical. However, with the snow comes cold weather – which can be harsh to many people. Your friends might not want to play outside with you anymore. You can bundle up and stay warm indoors or go outside for some winter sports. Plus, you don’t have to worry about humidity! No matter how old you are, there’s always something fun to do on a wintry day. Here are some ideas:

Indoor Scavenger Hunt

Make a list of fun things to find in your house or apartment and try to find them all by the end. If you don’t have one item on your list, make something up like “a picture of yourself when you were four” or “a letter from someone special”. Have a contest with your friends! You can even use this game to review for a test.

Scavenger hunts are also great for kids. Hand out different lists to each kid and let them go on their own hunt around the house. You can make it harder by hiding things in other rooms or making the lists more specific, like finding all of the blue items in the room. Set the rules and then get ready to have some fun.

Board Games

Board games are great for teaching social skills, having fun with friends or family members, and increasing cognitive function. Popular board games such as Bingo are also available to be played online. Harrison Score at WDW Bingo says, “Online Bingo is a great way to enjoy all the fun of a bingo hall from the comfort of your home. Bingo has never been more accessible. There’s nothing quite like gathering around a table with friends or family and playing your favorite game. If you’re feeling really competitive, you can even play a board game at a local coffee shop.

Throw a Party

If it’s not too cold or snowy, throw a party with your friends. Make sure to have some snacks and drinks ready for guests. Ask them to come up with charades or other games to play. You can get creative and turn the party into an activity by turning it into your very own drink and dance party

Then get everyone together in one room and start playing music. Turn off all but one light, daub some glow paint on people’s cheeks, and make glow sticks for each person – glow stick bracelets are great because they’re bright without being too bright! – then let everyone boogie down! When you can no longer ignore your appetite, turn the music down and either order food or cook something tasty.

Baking and Crafting

Winter is the perfect time to put on some warm clothes and stay in the kitchen for a few hours. Baking is a great way to show your loved ones that you care. It’s also a fun way to spend time with friends. Choose recipes that everyone can help make, or choose something challenging and try it together.

If you’re feeling ambitious, you could even start a Christmas cookie swap! Just make sure to have lots of cookies ready for guests – both big and small. Whether you’re baking cookies or cupcakes, you can take your mind off being cold by listening to Christmas music. Be sure to have fresh hot chocolate ready when it’s done.

Crafting can be so much fun, and there are endless possibilities when it comes to what you can make. You can make simple things like a scarf or hat, or you can get creative and make something more complicated. If you’re not sure where to start, there are lots of online tutorials that can help. Crafting is also a great way to use up all the holiday decorations you’ve been collecting. Get your friends together and have a crafting party. You could make Christmas ornaments, snowflakes, or anything that takes your fancy.

Watch a Movie

There’s nothing like snuggling up on the couch in front of a good movie on a cold winter day. Make sure to have lots of snacks and drinks ready for when the movie starts. If you want to get really into it, you can even dress up as your favorite character. If you have a friend or family member who loves movies as much as you do, invite them over for a movie marathon. The possibilities are endless. There’s no need to leave the house; you can watch all the newest releases at home.

Have a Snowy Experience

If there’s snow on the ground, have a snowball fight. It’s a great way to get some exercise and have some fun. Make sure you have plenty of snowballs ready to go. You can make the fight more interesting by setting rules, like no hitting below the waist or no using your hands.

If you’re feeling competitive, you could make it into a tournament. Divide everyone into two teams and have a snowball fight to see who can stay dry the longest. If you’re really cold when it’s over, you can always head inside for some hot chocolate. The best part is that you don’t even need to leave your house – just go outside, build a snowman, and start fighting.

Aside from snowballing with family and friends,  you can build a snowman. Make him as simple or as complicated as you want. If you have any leftover food, put it in the snowman’s mouth, eyes, nose, and buttons. Then give him some arms and legs. Make sure to leave room for your head – this will be his new hat!

There’s also the option of making a snow fort. This is a great activity for groups of people. You’ll need plenty of snow, some shovels, and a lot of time. Start by making a basic foundation, then add walls and a roof. The more complicated it is, the more fun it will be to build. You can also make traps and tunnels inside your fort. Just be careful not to let the cold weather get to you – you don’t want to end up sick on Christmas.
