7 Steps for Better Body Care Routine You Should Include

Our skin, the largest organ we have, protects us throughout our whole lives. It’s only fair to reciprocate by giving it the best care possible. Our skin is the first one to raise the alarm if something is wrong with our health. Consequently, it needs a lot of appropriate care. In order to keep protecting us, we need to keep it healthy, fresh and youthful as much as we can.

There are ways to improve your body care routine, some of which you may even haven’t been aware of. Including the following routine steps in your body care will allow you to give as much to your skin as it gives to you.

1. Exfoliation is the best start

Each body care ritual starts with thorough cleaning through exfoliation. A good exfoliation isn’t just about leaving your skin clean. It’s also about preparing it to absorb the necessary nutrients you’ll apply later. Any oils, cream, or serum that you use after exfoliation will be able to penetrate deeper layers of your skin and truly nurture it. Use exfoliation for your skin 1-3 times a week by applying upward strokes. Another option is a body scrub. Whatever you choose, it will tone your skin over time and make it firmer.

Just like the rest of your body, your face needs proper cleaning in order to soak the nutrients properly. This is the most important step in your morning routine. Cleansing washes away the remains of the products that didn’t soak in during the night. It also removes the dirt and bacteria that came from your pillow. A clean face is a prerequisite for accompanying care.

3. Be your own masseuse

You don’t have to see a professional give your skin a proper massage. A morning massage is a great way to start a day – it will start the circulation which will ensure the nutrients reach every organ in your body. If you do the massage with warm oil, it will definitely make your skin glow and look more youthful. If you apply upward strokes, it will strengthen the tissue and tone the skin.

4. Spoil the sensitive parts of your skin

Even though your whole skin reacts to even the smallest of changes, there are still parts of it that are highly sensitive. They need your special care, otherwise, it will lead to some very unpleasant or even serious skin diseases. Your intimate parts don’t tolerate aggressive creams, lotions or soups. The best way to clean them is by using nothing else but warm water. As the sensitive skin on your intimate parts can also react to the residue of the toilet paper, you should consider installing a bidet in your bathroom. Bidets make sure there isn’t any residue at all and that you don’t have to expose the sensitive parts of your skin to aggressive products. There are many types of easy to install bidets that will allow you to feel fresh and clean in a matter of minutes.

5. Feed your skin from the inside, too

A healthy diet helps your skin immensely. Junk food and unhealthy fat always find a way to cause a breakout on your skin. If you focus on healthy fats in your diet, they will feed the hypodermis – the fat layer of our skin. The healthier this layer is, the firmer and plumper your skin will appear to be.

Healthy fats are also necessary to apply to your skin, so get products that contain Sesame, Avocado, Coconut, or Argan oils. If you give your skin healthy oils from the inside as well as the outside, it will do wonders.

6. Don’t be stiff with the moisturizer

Every type of skin, even the oily type, needs to be hydrated every day. Be sure to get a moisturizer appropriate for your skin type. Also, pay attention to the time of the year – you’ll need a heavier moisturizer in the winter than in the summer. If you want an additional boost, get a moisturizer that also has anti-aging ingredients.


7. Sunscreen isn’t reserved for hot days only

Don’t be fooled into thinking that you need to protect your skin from the UV radiation only when you’re lying on the beach. Your skin, especially your face and neck, needs to be protected from the UV rays throughout the year. So, even if you use a moisturizer or make-up that contains SPF, it’s still better to have a specific sunscreen instead. Why? you may ask.  Well, you need a teaspoon of sunscreen for your face and neck only, and we know you won’t apply that much makeup on your face.

Your skin is your armor – it’s your protection but it’s also a part of you that makes you beautiful. The healthier your skin is, the more beautiful and youthful it will look.
