7 Unique Eyelash Styles To Try Out This Summer

It’s officially summer and it’s time to get the shorts and sunglasses out. We may not be able to have the summer we had hoped for this year, but that doesn’t mean we still can’t enjoy the little things. Festivals are canceled, holidays have been postponed, but that doesn’t mean we can’t look and feel fabulous.

With all those spare time at home, now is the perfect time to give this season’s eyelash trends ago. Midnight dance collection lashes are this year’s latest must-have, high-quality, easy to apply strip lashes that can make even the most basic makeup pop. What’s even better, they are reusable, saving you cash and reducing waste on our environment.

As we can’t get our usual beauty treatments, including facials, waxing, and eyelash extensions, it’s time to be inventive, creative, and own our own styles. Here are the 7 biggest trends to be seen on and off the catwalk this summer.

1. Bright Mascara

Think of colored mascara and we’re filled with dread from those embarrassing photos from our pre-teen years when we really thought we could pull off blue eyelashes, teamed with matching eyeshadow and badly done block highlights.

But trust us, bright mascara has made a comeback, in a good way! Keep the rest of your makeup subtle with a matte finish and nude lipstick and even the shyest of fashionistas can pull this look off.

Pink has been seen flooding the catwalks, pastel lashes work perfectly with the warmer months. If you aren’t brave enough, go so bright, try a deep green or blue. It is a subtle tone that really glows in the light, perfect for a summer evening.

2. Pastel Lids

Pastels will always be a summer staple, but this year it isn’t just your outfit. Pastel eyeshadow palettes are selling out quickly online and we honestly couldn’t be more excited about this trend.

This is also known as the watercolor look, simply dust a light shade of your favorite color over your upper lid and blend outwards to fade up to the brow and outer corners.

Now for the lash part, there are two ways to do this. For a more ‘natural’ look, don’t go for mascara, instead of dust your lashes with your chosen shade. You can use clear mascara to help it stick or even vaseline.

For a dramatic take, use strip lashes and coat them in your eye shadow. You can get really creative with this bit. Depending on your skills, you can customize your falsies before or after application. Colour the ends, just the corners or go all over, it’s really up to you.

3. Mismatched

It’s time for more color! And this is where you can really show your personality. No longer are we restricted by symmetrical eyes.

Choose two clashing (yes you heard that right!) colors of mascara or eyeshadow and use one on each eye.

Michael Kors showcased this look last year and it’s really proving popular. Electric blue and orange used to be an absolute no-go but now it’s the hottest fashion.

Keep the rest of your look subtle with a nude lip gloss and subtle highlighter.

4. Rainbow Eyelashes

It’s pride month and what better way to show your support than getting rainbow lashes.

This can be achieved in a variety of ways. You can purchase pre-colored strip lashes and simply pop them on, team with some blended rainbow eyeshadow and you have a striking look.

Alternatively, you can purchase individual lash extensions in various colors, this way, you can choose exactly how you mix and match them. The classic rainbow of colors is popular but you can also randomize the color order for a truly unique look.

5. Glitter Lashes

Glitter will never be out of fashion and just because festivals aren’t happening this year doesn’t mean you can’t have a festival eyelash style.

This year, less is more. You don’t need to go over the top with glitter and gems to stand out. Lightly coat your eyelashes with vaseline, clear mascara or eyelash glue for all-day hold.

Take some biodegradable glitter, dip a clean paintbrush or cotton bud in the glitter and lightly dust along your lash line. Silver glitter is the go-to this season, bring some winter sparkle to your summer look.

6. White Eyelashes

Now it’s time to forget all the colors. White eyelashes are one of the most gorgeous tips to try. White mascara has been slowly creeping into stores for a few years but now is the time for it to shine.

This looks particularly striking on fair skin, blue eyes and blonde hair but also at the opposite end with dark eyes, skin, and hair.

Pay particular attention to curling the outer-edge of your eyelashes and pop on a cherry red lipstick to really make yourself stand out in the best way possible.

7. No Extension Extensions

While in lockdown, most of us have given up on makeup and opted for the natural look. We aren’t seeing anyone anyway so why bother to go through the effort? It’s also a great chance to allow your skin to breathe and recover from years of makeup.

But now we are slowly being allowed to see friends and family, we want to feel fabulous again, but also have fallen in love with our natural look.

Eyelash extensions are great for giving that false eyelash look, without the hassle of applying them. But you can also achieve a natural look as well to compliment your beauty.

Opting for shorter, less extravagant eyelash extensions give you that extra confidence boost, without being over the top, perfect for the more casual summer we are going to have. If you’re looking for fashionable eyelashes, check Paris Lash Academy online.

So, why not give the looks ago? From the dramatic to the simple, with all this free time on our hands, it’s the perfect chance to practice our look and be ready for the next party, whenever that may be.
