If you’re looking for unforgettable fun and plenty of interesting and diverse things to do all in one spot, make sure to visit legendary Las Vegas. But, while most people hit casinos and clubs and don’t do much else, you really shouldn’t miss a chance to visit some more obscure attractions definitely worth your time.
Party by the pool
Las Vegas practically invented daytime pool parties, so you simply have to attend at least one. Dance the day away, have a few drinks and cool off whenever the weather gets too hot for you. If you’re single, these parties will truly be heavenly for you.
Check out public art
No one really associates Vegas with quality art, but we all should. While the city is certainly the epicenter of kitsch and cheap fun, it also has a wonderful collection of top-shelf art you can’t find anywhere else in the world.
Aside from visiting unique museums like the Mob Museum and Neon Museum, you can locate a few hotel lobbies, restaurants, and outdoor promenades and check out their art collections. Wherever you turn, you can see an installation, sculpture, or mural from a famous artist that would otherwise be in a museum or a private collection.
But, in Vegas, you can find it on display and enjoy it for free (in most cases). Visit Palms Casino Resort and check out Damien Hurst’s, Jean-Michel Basquiat’s, and Andy Warhol’s works or hit The Wynn and enjoy works from Okuda San Miguel and Takashi Murakami.
Escape the room with your buddies
Are you a fan of puzzles and mysteries? Do you love the thrill of horror movies? Well, you can have a real-life experience that’s exciting and fun if you visit any of the Las Vegas escape rooms. Like with everything else, Vegas does their escape rooms both bigger and better, some even involve live actors as part of the game.
The official Saw Escape Room is also super fun for all horror fans. Do you think you can escape Jigsaw?
Have a cannabis tour of the city
If you’re a major pothead, you must check out the Las Vegas scene—they truly have some of the best products out there. Some stores like the colossal Shango dispensary are attractions in themselves thanks to their size and wide variety of products.
From their state-of-the-art cannabis cultivation and processing facility to their amazing retail space and industrial kitchen for creating delicious edibles, you will have a blast picking out and sampling their products. Just make sure to respect the law and refrain from consuming marihuana products in public and don’t drive under the influence.
Catch an A-lister concert
While Las Vegas residencies used to be a little old-fashioned, in the last five years, new names really made the Vegas residency cool again. Say hello to some of the biggest names in the industry today like Lady Gaga, Xtina, Gwen Stefani, and Bruno Mars.
Some amazing rock names are also on the 2019-2020 list of residencies—think Santana, Billy Idol, Sting, and Aerosmith. No matter what kind of music you like, Vegas will blow your mind with its regular rotation.
Enjoy some adrenaline at the Stratosphere
If you need a big shot of adrenaline every once in a while, visit the Stratosphere and enjoy its many rides. For instance, the Big Shot will catapult you to space, while Insanity will give you vertigo as it spins 64 feet over the tower’s edge. You can simply visit the Stratosphere for the view or enjoy a nice meal between the clouds if you want to skip all the adrenaline.
Go kayaking
Kayaking in the desert of Nevada? Actually, you can hit the Colorado River and Lake Mead—they are just 45 minutes away from the Las Vegas center. When you get too hot, you can have a fun day trip and cool off on the water.
While most people opt to see the Hoover Dam, it’s much better to visit the Black Canyon and Emerald Cove and its green waters. Just have a waterproof camera at hand to immortalize your boating or kayaking adventure!
If you love fun adventures and unexpected sights, Las Vegas will really blow your mind. While you can leave some money in casinos, you can also do other interesting and wild activities that will make your trip really special.
