Gentlemen’s Club: The Best Smoking Rooms in the USA

Everyone knows that tobacco appeared in Europe thanks to Columbus who accidentally discovered the American continent in 1492. 50 years later, the first tobacco factory was opened in Cuba.

Only 100 years later, cigars began to be produced in Europe (Seville, Spain). According to the rules, gentlemen of that time could not smoke in the presence of ladies. This is how smoking rooms appeared, which became a part of the European tradition.

Smoking Rooms in America

At the beginning of the 20th century, the fashion for smoking rooms spread throughout America. The American gangster Al Capone created the image of a cigar as an attribute of “influential people,” so every American gentleman smoked either cigars or cigarettes.

By the 40s of the 20th century, smoking after dinner was a part of etiquette in many countries, so cigar rooms began to open everywhere as leisure places for the privileged public.

In the 21st century, a renaissance of smoking clubs has begun. While some people prefer ordinary cigarettes purchased on the CigsWay site, others attend smoking clubs – cigar aficionados. Some of them are very prestigious.

1. Casa Fuente, Las Vegas

This smoking bar is well known throughout Las Vegas for its luxury interior and high-status guests. Beautiful rooms, very comfortable furniture, and a bar with a wide selection of drinks – everything is here to take a break from everyday stress.

2. Macanudo, New York

Macanudo is one of the most popular smoking clubs in the entire state of New York. It is located on the Upper East Side in Manhattan, i.e., in the heart of the city. It is also one of the few cigar clubs with non-smoking rooms. But the rules in Macanudo are much stricter than in regular smoking clubs, and guests must adhere to a very strict dress code.

3. Velvet Lounge, New York

The Velvet Lounge is not a typical cigar club: visitors do not come here for entertainment, but for business negotiations. The club has no bar, no snacks, and no food at all. However, the assortment includes many different types of high-quality cigars, a lounge area, and many private meeting rooms.

4. The Carnegie Club, New York

This establishment is perhaps the most elite and expensive cigar club in New York. Some of the rarest and most expensive cigars can be found here. The Carnegie Club has a Gothic interior and a bar serving exotic drinks and cocktails.

5. Grand Havana Room, Beverly Hills

Since its emergence in 1995, this place has set the standard for luxury smoking clubs. Every item or element of the interior creates all conditions for getting the maximum pleasure from smoking cigars.

Elite smoking clubs have different rules: some of them offer only cigars and services for business meetings, while others are part of a hotel, restaurant, or entertainment venue. The only thing that unites them is the luxurious interior and a large selection of elite cigars.
