Administering anything to a dog should first be consulted with their vet. CBD oil is metabolized by the liver, so owners should not simply introduce it into the diet of the dog without consulting the vet.

The Canine Health Foundation has been working on a study with Colorado State University’s College of veterinary medicine and is trying to understand the potential benefits of CBD for epileptic dogs. Fewer Seizures

Seizures that are caused by electric shocks in mice have been shown some success. CBD oil has reduced the frequency as compared to other medications.

Reduced Inflammation

Dogs suffering from painful conditions such as cancer, arthritis, and back pain can gain some benefit from using CBD oil. It can reduce inflammation and alleviate pain.

Other potential benefits in which CBD helps dogs include appetite loss, glaucoma, depression, and sleeplessness. It is also found to be effective in treating various skin conditions.

Can My Dog Overdose On CBD?

If one is not sure, or the dog has grown up since the last time it visited the vet, one might miscalculate the amount of CBD oil that should be used. How Much CBD Oil Should I Give My Dog?

The maximum daily dose that can be administered to dogs is 5mg/kg body weight. This is the maximum amount until studies are conclusively able to prove that higher doses are also safe. However, to be on the safer side, we recommend you consult your vet.
