1. What want or need does your product or service fulfill?

Understanding that pain point that your business helps in fulfilling is the key to a successful marketing plan. You need to understand how you are helping your customers or clients. Ask yourself, what sort of business do you own? If your business revolves around a car wash, what you are really doing is to help people take care of their cars. If you are an online e-commerce store, you are saving people the work of going to a store to buy something.

2. What is your target market?

As a marketer, you need to understand where your target market is. You need to know where your target market is and what is it doing. Be it online or offline marketing, you need to know the location and traits of your target market. Taking on the car wash example, if you only operate in a certain state in a country, then your target market is only people who are living in that state. By spying on your competitors, you can develop a USP. USP stands for a unique selling point and every business should have one. That is the sole reason that you take with yourself and ask people to choose your products over other people’s products.

4. What are the goals of your marketing campaign?

Every marketing campaign should come with a goal. You don’t want to be creating a marketing campaign that does not have any goal. What this means is that you should have the end result in mind before you get started with the campaign. Ask yourself, what are you trying to achieve through this marketing campaign? What sort of content do your customers enjoy? Once you know that all, you should be able to build a strategy that connects well with your audience.

It is important that your brand has a reputation. With the growing internet marketing industry, it is important that you have an online reputation. Before making any sort of purchase online, what do people do? They look at the reviews. Reviews are a great way to build an online reputation. The more reviews you have, the more credible your business looks. Likewise, you need to ask yourself what sort of platforms you need to be on in order to generate those reviews. You may have great reviews on Facebook but if you are operating in the B2B arena, there is no point in having those reviews if most of your audience is searching for you on LinkedIn.

Every business must have a sales strategy. You may create great content online and your target audience may be viewing it, but how do you plan on converting those views into sales? A sales strategy is important in keeping the business going. You need to know the kinds of emails you need to create and the time after which you need to send them in order to achieve your sales goals. You may be targeting your audience in different stages of conversion. However, what you really need to do is to build an automated journey. You need to build your platforms in a way that people view something from your side on Facebook. After a few days, they are retargeted on Facebook. This takes them to your website.
