How To Prepare Your Mind And Body For Military Training

There are people who believe that if you are physically strong, it is already a huge success, but this is partially correct. Being both physically and mentally strong is the goal that you have to achieve in order to start military training.

Day by day you can improve your mental and physical condition by exercising regularly. It is very important to become stronger and stronger, because no matter which branch of the military you go into, it’s going to be a draining experience. But, how exactly are you doing this?

Prepare your body!

Going into the military is not easy, and you have to be mentally and physically prepared. Transform yourself into a disciplined person, use fitness products, eliminate the bad habits like smoking, drinking, partying, and start creating good habits for your health.

Keep you motivated!

No one will motivate you, so you’ll have to transform yourself into your own teacher. Understanding that your fitness level will make a difference between life and death will surely determine you to try and be a better version of yourself day by day.

Exercise every day!

Maybe this thing is obvious, but without exercising every day you will not be able to handle the military experience. Use fitness products, do situps, pull-ups, pushups, practice with ropes and fences, and make sure you accomplish your daily task.

You can use this pyramid workout every day and you help you to ace most of the requirements of the fitness test:

Going up the pyramid:

Set/Step 1: 2 Pull Up, 2 Push Ups, 2 Sit Ups

Set/Step 2: 4 Pull Ups, 4 Push Ups, 4 Sit Ups

Set/Step 3: 6 Pull Ups, 6 Push Ups, 6 Sit Ups

Set/Step 4: 8 Pull Ups, 8 Push Ups, 8 Sit Ups

Set/Step 5: 10 Pull Ups, 10 Push Ups, 10 Sit Ups

Set/Step 6: 12 Pull Ups, 12 Push Ups, 12 Sit Ups

Going down the pyramid:

Set/Step 5: 5 Pull Ups, 10 Push Ups, 15 Sit Ups

Set/Step 4: 8 Pull Ups, 10 Push Ups, 8 Sit Ups

Set/Step 3: 6 Pull Ups, 6 Push Ups, 6 Sit Ups

Set/Step 2: 4 Pull Ups, 4 Push Ups, 4 Sit Ups

Set/Step 1: 2 Pull Up, 2 Push Ups, 2 Sit Ups

Run!

Don’t choose the minimum physical standards and try to work as much as possible on yourself. When you feel that you can’t do it anymore, that is the time that you have to continue.

Run a minimum of 15-20 miles a week, besides the regular exercises that you should do every day. Make sure that you won’t provoke yourself injuries like dress fracture and joint tendonitis.

You can use this program of running:

Week 1

1-Mile Run x 3 days

2-Mile Walk (with weighted vest) x 3 days

 Week 2

1-Mile Run x 3 days

3-Mile Walk (with weighted vest) x 3 days

Week 3

1.5-Mile Run x 5 days

4-Mile Walk (with weighted vest) x 5 days

Week 4

2-Mile Run x 5 days

5-Mile Walk (with weighted vest) x 5 days

Prepare your mind!

“Don’t quit” must become your daily mantra

There will be times when you would consider that it will be a great idea to quit because it is too much. Just don’t! You’ve been through so much, you made this commitment and it is your job to keep it that way.

Every day think about the reasons that got you here and say “don’t quit”, even if it’s hard.

Keep a positive thinking

There is a little voice inside your head that tells you what you really want. Train it in order to help you to try harder and harder. Be strict to yourself and that will get you to continue what you already started with so much enthusiasm.

If it helps, buy some motivational books or listen to some podcasts or videos about how people experienced the military training. It might help you understand that you’re not alone and the desires of quitting are a common thing. What’s important is to be selective with what you’re thinking and to choose the good and positive thoughts.

You have to become a confident person if you are not already. This military training will get you through fatigue, irritability, depression, loss of appetite and anxiety. There are temporary and the only person that can help you is you.

The good part? If you thought that you can do this, you actually can. If you started doing this, you are already winning. And day after day you are closer to what you want to become.
