For our entire lives, our parents have compared us to our cousins and their best friend’s kids. It has been done so often, that we are now starting to compare ourselves to others in our lives. We look at other’s material achievements, comparing our current situation and possession, and obsess over the differences.
Unfortunately, when we spend time comparing ourselves to others, those comparisons begin to distract us from the progress that we’ve been making and brings us back to where we started.
Nothing good can come from comparing yourself to others, so it must stop now. You have to begin to realize that you are your own person who is making your own way in the world. You are no one but yourself, so it is high time that you begin focusing on yourself and stop comparing yourself to others.
