    My 1st was 3 years ago, still running very well, just need some part to take care.
    I buy 2 on Amazon Prime day with a very deal. The combo robot, vacuum + mob, running well, I live the mob combo. But another is the vacuum only, does not work as usual. The 1st problem is the spinning brush come off during clean. 2nd problem is the robot return home and charging, the robot status on app show that it off line, not connected to wifi. I try to reconnect it, but the problem remains. It must be manufactured defected. So, I decide to return it. But keep the combo. Will try to get different model when there is the good deal next time.

    This is my first experience with an iRobot brand and I have to say its so poor I may never purchase another product by them. Where to even begin? I previously had an iON brand unit I picked up at walmart on sale for $69 it was amazing and for $69 we could not complain. After two years of working hard and being abused by my boys if finally started making noises and it was time. So I thought moving to a $100+ name brand unit was going to be an upgrade. Not even close.

    1. This unit only has one side brush unlike my other unit that had one on each side, so unless its approaching the wall or nook and cranny from the right direction it does not grab anything near the wall or door or corner of the room.
    2. Its constantly getting stuck, the height of the unit is just enough that if you have a hard wood floor that was laid after your cabinets the space between the floor and the base of the kitchen cabinet is just enough for the downward angle of the unit to get wedged and its stuck. If you have a piece of furniture with say a box, or laundry hamper just smaller than the width of the unit next to it the unit sometimes will get stuck in a perpetual loop of turning around and running into the same piece of furniture then doing it all over again and never leaves that couple of square feet.
    3. The APP is horrible. Very few customization settings, my old iON unit i could fully remote control the unit like an RC car, I could also adjust the vacuum suction, its overall travel speed and much more. With this APP you can locate the unit if its stuck (that is often) and change its suction. That is about it.
    4. Wedges under every couch we have. If you happen to have one of those electric recliners where its slightly higher from the floor than most this unit will wedge itself under the back every time it passes by. (see picture)
    5. The brush is constantly turning on an off, I assume this is a battery feature, however its very annoying and it does not seem to clean as well with this occurring (again you cant change it in the app).
    6. The “human voice” (if you want to call it that) that communicates various issues to you such as “please place on a flat surface” or tells you there is a problem, is extremely LOUD. Even more so than the unit running by ten fold. So there is no chance your going to run this unit at night and sleep without nightmares of a robot taking you in your sleep.

    Bottom line is this unit does the job, however you have to babysit it so much its almost easier to just get out the vacuum and do it by hand. There are a few rooms that don’t trigger the unit getting stuck or calling for help for random reasons, so we do use it there. However for the price, your better off getting one of the off brand units for sure. Use it in rooms that have no cabinets, couches, or furniture with a curved leg (it likes to treat the curved leg like a dog in heat if you know what I mean and gets stuck).

    I WOULD RECCOMEND purchasing something else..

    We bought our first Roomba in 2017 and it worked great — still does. We upgraded last fall hoping for improvements, but the new model is a disappointment and doesn’t function properly. It’s quieter but much less effective: it gets stuck regularly, often misses edges, and sometimes loops over the same patch of floor. For the first few weeks it wouldn’t dock automatically (customer service apparently fixed that remotely). My biggest issue is the cleaning — after three months it barely picks up anything except the finest dust. We’ve cleaned the brushes and replaced the filter with no improvement, and contacting support through the app got us nowhere. Don’t waste your money — try to find an older model that actually vacuums. Not recommended.

    This vacuum is fantastic. We set it to run at the same time every day and are impressed with how much it picks up. It does require some maintenance — cleaning or replacing the filter and clearing the brushes — and we raised our beds slightly so it doesn’t get stuck and can clean underneath. It rarely jams and usually finds its own way back to the charging station.

    My first one was bought three years ago and is still running well—just needed a replacement part once. I bought two more on Amazon Prime Day at a great price. The vacuum+mop combo works perfectly and I love the mopping feature. The vacuum-only unit has problems: the spinning brush keeps coming off during cleaning, and although it returns to the dock and charges, the app shows it offline and it won’t reconnect to Wi‑Fi. It seems to be a manufacturing defect, so I returned the vacuum-only unit but kept the combo. I’ll look for a different model on the next good deal.

    The media could not be loaded.

    I decided to replace my old Roomba as it was beginning to have some parts that pieces were breaking off. I was excited to get this one and ordered it on Prime Day in October at the sale price. It was one of several robot vacuums in my wish list since I had done lots of research and gone through lots of reviews. I had tried a combo vacuum/mop unit before and it was awful, but it was a different brand and did worse than this thing.

    Right out of the box it would not connect to Wi-Fi or Alexa. I had to perform a factory reset to get it to connect. You do that by holding down all three buttons on the top, simultaneously, for about 10 seconds until you hear a series of sounds. You are then required to let it charge for best results, so I let it charge almost 24 hours. The app never would show the “Product Health”, even after using the vacuum. I would only get the notice in the screenshot shown. I did use the app to start the first vacuuming. I felt I was off to a good start as the robot began vacuuming in the grid pattern as shown in the ad. Once that pattern led it into my living room, things changed dramatically, for the worse. It should be noted that I do not have a bunch of clutter. I lost my fur baby soulmate, but still have not removed his bed (seen in the movie). There is really not a lot of difficult navigation. I included the movie because it was at the start of the vacuuming, and I was pleased with the low noise level. It was less noisy than my old one at least. Once in the living room, it got stuck under the chair. I got it unstuck and restarted it. It was not 45 seconds later, and it got stuck in the exact same place. It actually had to force its way into the location that it kept getting stuck in. I got it free and completely moved it to a different area. It wasn’t long and it returned, but this time I moved it again before it got stuck. Then it would go into an area by my dog’s bed and would just stay in that area, going to and fro as if stuck in a large box. It would spin, it would go backwards, it would go forwards, and it would spin some more. I thought perhaps it was due to the small AC/Heat vent in the floor, so I covered that vent with the dog’s bed. But this was to no avail. It was bound and determined to stay in that 3×3 feet area. I moved it again. It stayed in the room that it started in (adjacent to my living room where it kept getting stuck) for a few minutes and then came back into the living room. This was an hour and 14 minutes, it did less than 400 square feet of vacuuming, and I used the app to send it home to its base. It picked up some dirt (shown). I liked the size of the dirt bin and the ease of emptying it. The noise level and the size of the dirt bin were the only things I liked about this Roomba. I realize that it is on the cheaper end of the scale for a Roomba, but I expected more! I returned this vacuum. I will wait until Prime Days for Christmas and order something different, and probably not a Roomba!

    Great for upkeep, but I still need to run my manual vacuum every other week to really keep up with the pet hair. It works on carpet/rugs, but it does drain the battery quickly when used on those. The vacuum itself is fairly quiet, and nothing beats watching it maneuver around the house hahaha

    We wore our first iRobot after ~8 years and I was amazed at the advances since we bought our first one. This ONE is SMART! We can manage it from our phones.
    After receipt, I assembled and and charged it, the followed the very clear instructions. When I started “Hazel” the first time, she mapped the entire house then returned to her dock. Since then she has been brilliant!
    – She will advise me if her bin needs to be emptied.
    – She will return to her dock to recharge (if needed), then pickup where she left off.
    – She also lets us select a specific room/area to be vaccumed.
    And to top it off she advises use when she’s charged and ready to go again!
    A great house keeper!

    In all seriousness, This vacuum is awesome, We set it to run at the same time everyday and it’s impressive how much it actually picks up. Some maintenance is required like cleaning/changing out the filter, and cleaning out the brushes. We raised all the beds a little bit so that it doesn’t get stuck and can easily clean under them. Pretty rare that it gets jammed anywhere and usually makes it back to the charge station on it’s own

    Delivered well past the promised date, contrary to Amazon’s estimates. The item arrived in good condition but is unusable because it has a US power plug instead of an Australian AC connector. It would be usable if replaced with a unit fitted with an Australian plug or if a US-to-Australia adapter were included — which I should not have to pay for.

    I bought the Roomba Vac Essential in March 2025 and use it daily on medium-pile carpet. Setup was straightforward and overall cleaning is solid — it picks up most dirt and pet hair, though I still have to run a manual vacuum for stubborn clumps of cat hair. I like the neat, uniform vacuum lines, which is why I replaced my older robot (that one cleaned well but left chaotic patterns).

    However, this model has a major flaw. It gets stuck on about 3 out of 5 runs, and in two of those cases it spins in place and leaves persistent black wheel marks on the carpet. I’ve tried multiple cleaners and even steam cleaning, but the stains won’t come out. At this point I may have to replace my carpet — not because of my geriatric cats, but because of wheel damage from the robot.

    If you care about your carpet, especially lighter or medium tones, I can’t recommend this model. It might be acceptable on hard floors, but on carpet it’s a risky and potentially expensive choice.

    I replaced my old Roomba because parts were starting to break and bought this one on Prime Day after a lot of research and reading reviews. I’d tried a combo vacuum/mop from another brand before and it was awful, but I had higher hopes for this Roomba.

    Out of the box it wouldn’t connect to Wi‑Fi or Alexa. I had to do a factory reset (hold all three buttons on top for about 10 seconds until it makes a series of sounds) and then let it charge — I left it charging for almost 24 hours. The app never displayed “Product Health” even after using the vacuum; it only showed an error message. The app did let me start the first cleaning and initially it was promising: quiet and moving in the advertised grid pattern, and noticeably less noisy than my old unit.

    Once it entered the living room, problems began. My home isn’t cluttered — I did leave my late dog’s bed in place — yet the robot repeatedly got stuck under a chair. I freed it and restarted it, only for it to get stuck in the exact same spot within a minute, even forcing itself into that tight location. I moved it to a different area, but it kept returning toward that spot. It also got trapped in a roughly 3×3 ft area near the dog bed, spinning, reversing and bumping around as if trapped in a box. I even covered a nearby floor vent thinking that might be the cause, but it made no difference.

    After 1 hour and 14 minutes it had cleaned less than 400 sq ft, so I sent it home via the app. It did pick up some dirt and I liked the dirt bin size and how easy it was to empty. Aside from the low noise level and the bin, I wasn’t satisfied. Given the navigation problems and connectivity issues, I returned it. I’ll wait for another sale and likely choose a different model — probably not a Roomba.

    We bought our first Roomba in 2017 — worked great, still works, actually. Decided to upgrade last fall, and was looking forward to what the new models had to offer. Womp womp… spoiler alert, it’s worse in that it does not function properly.

    The new model, though quieter, is far from effective. It gets stuck periodically, which, fair enough, it happens. Since we’ve had it, it consistently misses the edges of the rooms, and periodically will get stuck in a loop on the same section of floor; it also didn’t dock automatically for the first few weeks we had it (reached out to the company and evidently they can fix this remotely?) My big gripe is that our floors are consistently dirty, being as, three months in, this robot no longer picks up anything, aside from the finest dust. We’ve cleaned the brushes, replaced the filter… no change. I’ve also reached out to the company directly via the app… nothing.

    Don’t waste your money… see if you can find an older version that actually works as a vacuum; do not recommend.

    The item was delivered after a long delay not in keeping with the Amazon claims.

    While the item was delivered in good condition the item is useless and cannot be used. This is because the item (apparently) came from the United States and the charging unit is fitted with a US connector to power – not an Australian power point AC plug.

    The unit could be made usable if you could provide a replacement unit with the appropriate Australian power connector or alternatively a US-Australia adaptor. I do not think I should have to pay for this.

    This is a huge upgrade over the previous mopping vacuums. I have two large, long-haired dogs that shed a lot, and the single brush doesn’t get nearly as tangled in hair as the old dual-brush model. The mopping is impressive — the rotating mop heads rinse themselves multiple times during each room’s cleaning cycle, leaving no streaks and truly clean floors. It also cleans about 30% faster than the earlier models. Great purchase, and iRobot’s customer support is excellent as always.

    I purchased this Roomba Vac Essential in March 2025 and run it daily on medium-pile carpet. Setup was easy, and cleaning performance is generally solid — it picks up most dirt and pet hair, though I still need to run a manual vacuum for stray clumps of cat hair. One thing I appreciate is the neat, uniform vacuum lines, which is why I replaced my older robot vacuum (that one cleaned well but left random, chaotic patterns).

    Unfortunately, this model has a serious flaw. It gets stuck in about 3 out of every 5 cleanings, and in 2 of those cases it spins in place, leaving stubborn black marks from the wheel on my carpet. These stains are impossible to remove — I’ve tried multiple cleaners and even steam cleaning without success. At this point, I’ll likely need to replace my carpet entirely, not because of my geriatric cats, but because of the robot vacuum’s wheel damage.

    If you have carpet you care about, especially lighter or medium tones, I cannot recommend this model. On hard floors, it might be fine, but on carpet it’s a costly risk.

    We bought our first iRobot about eight years ago, and I’m amazed at the advances since then. This ONE is truly smart — we can control it from our phones. After it arrived I assembled and charged it, then followed the clear instructions. On the first run “Hazel” mapped the entire house and returned to her dock. Since then she’s been brilliant: she notifies me when her bin needs emptying; she returns to her dock to recharge and then resumes where she left off; we can send her to clean a specific room or area; and she lets us know when she’s fully charged and ready to go again. A great housekeeper!
