Intro

This is an upright, lift-away vacuum designed with pet owners in mind. It combines a detachable canister, a self-cleaning brushroll, and a selection of tools meant to tackle pet hair, upholstery and tight spaces while aiming to keep dust and allergens trapped inside the machine.

Who it’s for: people with pets (cats, dogs), households that need a versatile upright that converts to a portable cleaner, and shoppers who want a vacuum that reduces hair wrap on the brushroll. Quick verdict: a practical, pet-focused upright that simplifies hair pickup and offers flexible cleaning modes without a lot of gadget complexity.

What’s in the Box

  • Navigator Lift-Away Upright Vacuum (main unit)
  • Upholstery Tool
  • Pet Crevice Tool
  • Owner’s Guide

If you need additional accessories (motorized pet tool, extra filters, replacement brushroll), those are not listed as included.

Design & Build

This vacuum is built as a standard upright with a detachable lift-away pod. The main unit houses the motor, dust collection, and brushroll; the pod detaches so you can carry a lighter, more compact cleaner for above-floor jobs. The overall design emphasizes functional ergonomics over premium materials — think robust molded plastics and user-friendly controls rather than metal trim or luxury finishes.

Size and weight implications: the lift-away design reduces the weight you must lift when cleaning stairs, furniture, or high spots, but the upright form factor still takes up more storage space than a stick or canister vacuum. The detachable pod improves mobility and reaches tight spots under furniture when the wand is extended. Exact weight and dimensions are not specified in the listing.

Ergonomics: swivel steering is included to help the vacuum pivot around furniture and navigate corners more easily than a purely rigid upright. The handle and wand afford reasonable reach for ceilings and curtains when using attachments.

Materials and durability: the components appear to be standard high-density plastics used on many household vacuums. Without explicit materials or long-term test data from the manufacturer, assume typical durability for a midrange upright: durable for regular use but not necessarily built for heavy commercial cycles.

Key Features

Self-Cleaning Brushroll

Benefit: The brushroll is engineered to reduce and resist hair wrapping around the roller, which saves time and frustration on maintenance and keeps cleaning performance steady during pet-hair-heavy sessions (source: listing, checked 2025).
Where it helps: In homes with shedding pets, long-haired breeds, or frequent hair transfer to rugs and carpets, the self-cleaning brushroll reduces the frequent need to stop and manually cut or pull hair off the roller. It’s most useful on area rugs, carpeted stairs, and high-traffic zones where hair accumulates.

Lift-Away Functionality

Benefit: The detachable pod converts the upright into a lighter, handheld unit so you can clean under furniture, on upholstery, stairs, and above-floor surfaces without hauling the entire machine.
Where it helps: Stairs and sofas become much easier to clean with a lighter pod. If you have narrow staircases or need to clean curtains, lampshades, or car interiors, the lift-away mode reduces strain and improves access.

Anti-Allergen Complete Seal Technology (with HEPA)

Benefit: Paired with a HEPA-style filter, the vacuum is designed to trap dust and common allergens inside the machine instead of re-releasing them into the room (source: listing, checked 2025).
Where it helps: Households with allergy sufferers or asthma patients will appreciate that captured dust and pet dander are held inside the vacuum chamber and filter system rather than escaping around seals or exhaust vents. Note: if you require medical-grade filtration standards, verify the exact HEPA certification and replacement filter availability.

Pet Crevice Tool

Benefit: A narrow tool specifically shaped to reach tight, hair-prone locations — between couch cushions, along baseboards, in corners, and on ceiling edges — to extract pet hair and debris.
Where it helps: Great for spot-cleaning around pet beds, under chair cushions, and in crevices where fur and dust gather. If you have pets that shed on furniture or jump onto counters and shelves, this tool adds targeted control.

Swivel Steering

Benefit: The vacuum’s head pivots to make turning around furniture and navigating tight rooms easier, reducing the need to lift and reposition the whole unit.
Where it helps: In cluttered living rooms, narrow hallways, and spaces with many legs (chairs, table legs), swivel steering translates to fewer interruptions and a more fluid cleaning motion.

Upholstery Tool

Benefit: A soft-surface tool designed to remove hair and debris from delicate fabrics, lampshades, curtains, and flat surfaces without aggressive agitation.
Where it helps: Useful for lightweight or delicate upholstery that would be damaged by a powered brush. Ideal for quick touch-ups on drapes, throw pillows, and soft furniture where pet hair accumulates.

Performance & Use

Setup

  • Unbox the main unit and attach the handle/wand and desired tool per the owner’s guide.
  • Install or check the HEPA filter position if removable; follow the guide for correct seating.
  • For first use, check the brushroll area for any manufacturing packing material and ensure the pod latches correctly.

Daily use tips

  • Use the full upright mode for broad carpeted areas and switch to lift-away mode for stairs, upholstery, or high-reach spots.
  • The pet crevice and upholstery tools are best used without the motorized head attached — they draw suction through the wand for focused pickup.
  • Swivel steering helps with corners; approach tight zones slowly to let the head pivot rather than force a turn.

Maintenance

  • Empty the dust cup regularly to maintain suction; follow the owner’s guide for hygienic emptying to avoid dust clouds.
  • Though the brushroll is self-cleaning, check it periodically for string or heavy tangles and remove obstructions as needed.
  • Replace or clean HEPA filter per manufacturer recommendations. If the HEPA filter is washable, let it fully dry before reinstalling; if disposable, replace at the suggested interval to keep allergen capture effective.
  • Inspect seals and gaskets occasionally for wear; the anti-allergen claim depends on maintaining a good seal.

Practical cleaning scenarios

  • Carpets: full upright mode with the brushroll engaged for deep pickup of embedded hair and debris.
  • Stairs: detach the pod for a lightweight clean; use the crevice or upholstery tool for corner edges.
  • Furniture & curtains: lift-away plus upholstery tool avoids agitating delicate fabrics while removing hair.
  • Tight spaces & corners: pet crevice tool clears hair from seams and edges where a standard nozzle can’t reach.

Noise & power

  • Rated at 1200 watts and designed to run on 120 volts (source: listing, checked 2025). Expect typical vacuum noise levels consistent with 1200 W upright motors — audible but within normal household range for cleaning appliances.

Real-world performance considerations

  • The self-cleaning brushroll should reduce downtime for hair removal, but very dense fur or long threads can still require manual attention.
  • The anti-allergen seal with HEPA filtration is a helpful feature for suck-back and output air quality—but the effectiveness over time depends on filter maintenance and replacement.
Where to buy

Pros vs Cons

Pros Cons
Self-cleaning brushroll designed to limit hair wrap, saving maintenance time (source: listing, checked 2025). Exact weight and dimensions are not listed — harder to judge portability and storage needs.
Lift-away pod adds versatile above-floor cleaning and easier stair use. No motorized pet tool included in the box — may reduce deep upholstery performance on heavy hair pickup.
Anti-Allergen Complete Seal Technology with HEPA helps trap dust and dander (source: listing, checked 2025). Filter replacement schedule and exact HEPA certification level are not specified.
Useful attachment set (pet crevice and upholstery tool) for targeted cleaning. Materials and long-term durability details are not specified.
Swivel steering improves maneuverability around furniture and tight spaces. No explicit claim on air watts or suction figures to compare with competitors.

Who Should Buy

  • Pet owners who need an upright that minimizes hair wrap on the brushroll and includes tools for tight spots and upholstery.
  • Households with allergy concerns that want a sealed system paired with HEPA-level filtration to reduce dust and dander escape.
  • People who prefer the cleaning flexibility of an upright plus a detachable pod for stairs and above-floor tasks.

Who Shouldn’t Buy

  • Buyers who need a motorized hand tool specifically for deep upholstery or stair cleaning and expect that accessory in the box; this model includes a non-motorized upholstery tool and pet crevice tool only.
  • Shoppers who require full, quantifiable performance metrics (air watts, exact suction numbers, weight/dimensions) for side-by-side comparison — many of those specifics are not listed.
  • Those seeking a very compact stick vacuum or a lightweight canister for small apartments; the upright body takes more storage space.

Closing — Quick Recommendation & CTA

If your priority is a straightforward, pet-focused upright that cuts down on brushroll hair wrap, converts to a lighter pod for stairs and furniture, and includes anti-allergen filtration, this model is a practical choice. It’s best for families with pets who want reliable day-to-day cleaning rather than a specialty deep-cleaning system. Check filter replacement options and consider whether you need any additional motorized tools before buying.

Always liked Shark vacuums. Mine died on me, but it was very old and had seen better days. This one is improved and works great. Good suction, and is very light to push. This does have a cord, but I have tried cordless. They’re not for me. Can be put away easy as well. Great little vacuum.

This is, without a doubt, the best vacuum I’ve ever had. I have a Great Pyrenees mix who sheds like nothing I’ve ever seen, and her fur tends to get stuck in and tangled up with the carpet fibers. I used to have to vacuum every day to keep up with it. When my Bissell finally broke, I gave this a try and I was bewildered. It was pulling hair out of the carpet from my dog who passed away 9 months ago. Not to mention more dirt than I’d ever seen in any other vacuum I’ve used! It’s light and easy to carry and gets the job done.

I have bad allergies to dust and my old canister vacuum used to spew dust everywhere, so my husband usually had to vacuum the living room rug. Shark has a strong reputation, so I bought this one on sale during Prime Week. Assembly was straightforward, though I had to press the latches firmly to get them to snap into place. On the first pass it picked up an astonishing amount of cat hair and debris, and the HEPA filter trapped every speck. The unit is very lightweight and swivels easily; removing the canister made it simple to clean crevices and the stairs. The attachments and the whole vacuum feel solid and well-made. I’m very happy with it — it did an excellent job.

Tengo 2 años con el y no he tenido ningun problema con el funcionamento. Lo que si es que hay que darle el mantenimiento de limpieza a las esponjas para que no el motor no se apague. Es un producto bastante bueno!!!! Vale la pena pagarlo!

I’d been struggling with a heavy vacuum for months and my back was paying the price. After my husband tried it, he was shocked at how much lifting I’d been doing and ordered this model. I’m so relieved — it’s incredibly lightweight and a huge improvement for my back.

It works like a dream on dog hair and dirt. We have five dogs and this vacuum picks up the hair with no trouble. It’s easy to maneuver, has strong suction on our all-tile floors, and the canister is simple to empty.

My only gripe is that the accessories are a bit short — I have to bend over a lot to clean dog beds and use the crevice tool, which is uncomfortable since I’ve had multiple back surgeries. Other than that, it’s a fantastic, affordable machine that’s been thoroughly tested in our busy home and performs great.

You have no idea how many vacuums I’ve been through, being a bit of a clean freak and somewhat obsessed with a clean carpet. We have two small dogs that seem to shed their body weight in fur weekly, and my daughter and her friends trek through after their almost daily visits to the beach. The carpet is nowhere near new, but manages to look decent with the help of this particular vacuum. The suction is very strong still after almost a year, and I have to turn it down on the area rugs. The floor looks and feels cleaner and softer after use. I really like the hatch that opens and makes removing clogs sooo simple. The bin is easy to empty and wash out if needed. It’s a little heavy, but I like that because it doesn’t seem flimsy, and wand removal with the push of a button and all the right attachments makes cleaning hard floors and hard to reach places a breeze. I would buy it again, but I don’t think I have to worry about that for a good long time.

I’ve had it for two years and haven’t had any problems with its performance. You do need to clean the sponges regularly so the motor doesn’t shut off. It’s a very good product—definitely worth the price!

I’ve gone through countless vacuums — I’m a bit of a clean freak and picky about my carpet. We have two small dogs that shed nonstop and my daughter and her friends track in sand from the beach almost daily, so the carpet isn’t new, but this vacuum keeps it looking decent. After nearly a year the suction is still very strong (I even have to turn it down on area rugs). The floor looks and feels cleaner and softer after use. I love the hatch that flips open to make removing clogs so easy, and the bin is simple to empty and can be washed out if needed. It’s a little heavy, but that makes it feel sturdy, and the wand releases with the push of a button and the right attachments make cleaning hard floors and tight spots a breeze. I’d buy it again, though I don’t think I’ll need to for a long time.

I had the same vacuum for about 15 years — a Bissell PowerForce that worked until it didn’t. After a little research I decided to try a Shark. I bought the Shark Lift-Away in turquoise — it looked great and was a good sale — but after only four uses my roommate vacuumed up a bobby pin and the roller stopped working.

Shark handled it wonderfully: they apologized, were patient and helpful, and sent me an upgraded model much faster than promised (they said 7 days, it arrived in about 2). The replacement is a top-of-the-line Shark Stratos with DuoPower fins and it’s an amazing vacuum. It’s well constructed, heavy duty with a commercial feel, makes the carpet look like new, and the separate pod plus HEPA filtration really cleans the air and leaves everything smelling fresh. Between the product and the customer service, I highly recommend Shark vacuums — 5 stars!

I have been dealing with another vacuum for months. After multiple complaints to the husband about my bad back breaking using the vacuum he decided to test it. He was literally appalled that I had been pushing, lifting, and dealing with such a heavy vacuum so he ordered this one. Wow my back is so grateful it is very lightweight.
This has been like a heaven sent vacuum it is so lightweight. It is picking up the dog hair and dirt fantastically. We have five dogs so I deal with a ton of hair and this vacuum has gotten it up no problem. Easy to maneuver and it has a canister that is simple to empty.
I guess if I have to find a complaint it would be that I wish it had longer accessories. I have to bend over quite a bit to brush the dog beds. I have had multiple back surgeries so this is uncomfortable. It has a great crevis tool that again I have to bend over far to use.
This is overall a fantastic machine that gets up tons of dirt. It is offered at a great price. Having five dogs and one messy husband I would say it has been tested in my home and works great. We have all tile floors in our home, five dogs, and the suction power is strong.

I owned a cleaning business for 6 years and have purchased over 6 of these vacuums. Through hundreds of clients and different types of vacuums, this is by far the best. Suction is good. Its very durable and excellent for commercial use. Lightweight and perfect for stairs. I like the quick release for the long handle, that is the perfect length for walking around and cleaning baseboards. I particularly love this vacuum because it has a small access door to easily clear clogs. It has settings for both carpet and hardwood flooring. Attachments make cleaning curtains, lamp shades, and furniture easy. It also has vents so you can turn down the suction for vacuuming fragile items. The 3-filter system (including a Hepa filter) is the reason I originally bought this unit- my son has severe asthma and I needed a vacuum that kept the yucky stuff trapped inside the unit, which this does. You can also buy spare filters individually or in sets. I cannot recommend this vacuum enough!

I’ve always liked Shark vacuums — my old one finally died after years of use. This new model is a big improvement: great suction, very light to push, and easy to store. It has a cord, which I prefer over cordless options. Great little vacuum.

Incredible suction — so powerful that it’s actually too much for plush carpet; the brush roll stops immediately. Works amazingly on hardwood and Berber, but avoid if you have plush. Very easy to assemble and use, and the build quality is excellent. Kudos to the engineers — they deserve a raise.

Excellent suction — this vacuum does not disappoint. I was stunned at what it pulled out of a “new” carpet that had already been vacuumed several times with another machine. I watched several videos before buying and it lived up to them. The long cord saves me from having to keep unplugging, the built-in light is useful, and the various attachments make it easy to reach tight spots. The detachable canister and wand are great for cleaning high areas or stairs without hauling the whole unit. The filters are effective — no odors or dusty exhaust. Build quality and durability are excellent; it’s been going strong for nine months and my cleaner loves it too. I bought one for my son and he was amazed at what it picked up from his newly installed carpet. Only complaint: the raised molded labels for power and brush on/off are hard to read, so I labeled them myself. Overall, you won’t be disappointed.

So I had the same vacuum for about 15 years. It was a Bissell PowerForce that did the job until it didn’t.
So he did a little bit of looking and research and came across the shark vacuum cleaners. I was looking for something that would be a good to pick up my cat hair as it would get wound around, along with the old lady’s hair, in the roller. That becomes kind of a burden of course!
So I purchased the shark lift away in turquoise. It was a sharp looking vacuum cleaner and on a decent sale. I liked it very much and it was used maybe four times and my roommate vacuumed up a bobby pin took it out and the roller wasn’t working at all.
Anyway, to make a long story shorter; They ended up shipping me a newer upgraded model. They said it would arrive in 7 days and it arrived in about 2! This model is a top of the line shark stratos with the dou power fins and it really is an amazing vacuum cleaner!
It is well constructed, heavy duty with a commercial feel. The thing makes the carpet look like new and what’s really incredible is the way that it cleans the air. with it separate pod and the HEPA filtration, I believe what They advertise. It really purifies the air and leaves an awesome smell afterwards. You almost wanted to run it just to clean the air.
because of the way this company, speaking with them directly handle the situation and apologized and had an awesome customer service representative that was patient and helped me through the process. That and their vacuums rock, I would highly recommend a shark vacuum. Great products, great customer service. 5 stars!

This thing is ridiculous, the suction power is crazy powerful, actually too powerful for plush carpets. Does amazing on hardwood and Berber carpet, not on plush! If you have plush carpet do not purchase, the roller will stop immediately. Not sure what kind of magic the engineers are using but they need a pay raise. Very easy to assemble and use, high quality as usual.

Highly recommended. Powerful, versatile, and great for general household cleaning. One suggestion for SHARK: improve how accessories are secured so they don’t dangle and get in the way while vacuuming — you can remove them, but it’s more practical to have them kept close at hand.
