Description
Introduction
The Shark Navigator Upright Vacuum is a stand-up cleaner designed for everyday homes that need strong suction, straightforward controls, and tools for hair and tight spots. It’s aimed at people who want a reliable, no-fuss upright that can handle carpets, bare floors and reach up high without hauling multiple machines around.
If you have pets, allergy concerns, or a mix of floor surfaces, this vacuum is pitched as a practical all-rounder. Quick verdict: a solid, maneuverable upright with targeted pet and allergen features, though some technical details are not specified in the listing.
What’s in the Box
- Shark Navigator Upright Vacuum
- Crevice Tool
- Pet Power Brush
- Upholstery Tool
If you need more accessories or a specific replacement part, the listing does not specify additional items.
Design & Build
The listing highlights a lightweight design meant to make carrying and lifting easier. That suggests the vacuum is built to balance portability with upright performance; however, exact materials (plastic grade, metal components), total weight, and dimensions are not specified.
Swivel steering is called out, which typically improves ergonomics by letting you turn the machine smoothly around furniture and into corners without large wrist movements. The upright form factor keeps controls and dust collection accessible from a standing position, which most users find convenient for frequent quick cleans.
Because specific build materials and weight aren’t listed, we can’t rate durability or give exact lifting requirements. Expect a design focused on user-friendly handling rather than heavy-duty commercial construction.
Key Features
Swivel Steering — Easier maneuvering in tight spaces
Swivel steering helps you guide the vacuum around chair legs, table bases and narrow pathways with less effort. In everyday use, this makes quick cleanups under coffee tables, between dining chairs and around living-room clutter noticeably faster and less awkward than with a rigid-steer upright.
Where it helps: apartments, living rooms with lots of furniture, and tight hallways where full-body repositioning would otherwise be required.
Powerful Suction — Deep cleans carpets and bare floors
The product description emphasizes powerful Shark suction designed to lift embedded dirt from carpets and move debris off hard floors. While specific airflow or wattage figures aren’t provided, this is the core performance promise: robust pickup on both pile and smooth surfaces.
Where it helps: households with medium- to high-pile rugs, families that track in dirt, and routine floor maintenance between deeper cleans.
Anti-Allergen Complete Seal with HEPA filter — Traps fine particles
This vacuum pairs an Anti-Allergen Complete Seal with a HEPA filter to retain tiny particles inside the bin rather than releasing them back into the room. The listing states it traps 99.9% of dust and allergens (based on ASTM F1977 of particles 0.3 microns or larger) (source: listing, checked 2025).
Where it helps: allergy-prone homes, households with respiratory sensitivities, or anyone who wants to keep removed dust contained rather than redistributed.
Lightweight Convenience — Easier to carry and store
The listing calls out a lightweight design intended for effortless portability. That translates to easier lifting up stairs, carrying between rooms and storing in smaller closets. The lack of an exact weight makes it impossible to quantify the ease, but the ergonomics aim toward low strain for typical users.
Where it helps: multi-level homes, seniors or users who prefer a lighter machine, and compact living spaces.
Floor-to-Ceiling Reach — Up to 11 feet of total reach
An extendable hose provides up to 11 feet of total reach, so the vacuum can tackle stairs, curtains, top shelves and upholstery without moving the main unit for every spot. That’s useful if you want a single appliance to serve both floor and some above-floor tasks.
Where it helps: staircases, furniture tops, drapes, and occasional high or awkward spots where a ladder would otherwise be needed.
Perfect for Pets — Pet Power Brush included
The package includes a Pet Power Brush designed to pull pet hair from furniture, tight spaces and carpets. This tool is specifically tuned for hair pickup and helps reduce the time spent picking fur out of upholstery.
Where it helps: homes with shedding dogs or cats, condos with pet fur on sofas, and car interiors when used carefully on upholstery.
Crevice & Upholstery Tools — Tackle tight spots and delicate fabrics
A crevice tool handles narrow gaps (between cushions, baseboards, radiator fins), while the upholstery tool is built to lift hair and debris from mattresses, couches and curtains without rough abrasion.
Where it helps: detailed cleaning jobs, car interiors, mattresses and delicate fabrics where the main brushroll would be too aggressive.
Performance & Use
Setup is straightforward: attach the tools you need to the onboard or hose connection, adjust the handle to your height if an adjustment is available, and plug in. The listing doesn’t specify whether the unit is corded or cordless; check the retailer’s product page for power configuration before purchasing.
Practical tips for everyday use
- For best carpet pickup, make slow, overlapping passes so suction can lift embedded dirt.
- Use the Pet Power Brush on upholstery after vacuuming visible hair to remove fibers embedded in fabric.
- Take advantage of the 11-foot reach to clean stairs and tops of bookcases without carrying the main unit up and down—this reduces fatigue.
- Empty the dust bin before it reaches capacity to maintain suction and reduce strain on the motor.
Maintenance basics (general guidance)
- Clean and inspect the HEPA filter periodically; the listing does not state recommended replacement intervals. If allergies are a concern, check the filter monthly and replace per the manufacturer’s guidance found on the retail page or manual.
- Check the brushroll for hair wrap and cut away tangles with scissors—this improves brush performance and reduces motor load.
- Wipe down the exterior and hose to prevent buildup and keep seals working properly. Because specific cleaning steps aren’t listed, consult the official manual for exact disassembly and filter replacement procedures.
Note: Because important technical details such as cord length, wattage, dustbin capacity and explicit weight are not specified in the listing, consider confirming those specs with the seller if they matter for your use case.
Pros vs Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Swivel steering for easier maneuvering around furniture (evidence: listing) | Exact weight and dimensions not listed — hard to judge portability for every user |
| Anti-Allergen Complete Seal with HEPA filter captures 99.9% of 0.3 micron particles (source: listing, checked 2025) | Power source (corded vs cordless) is not specified in the listing |
| Includes Pet Power Brush and upholstery tools for hair and delicate fabrics | No manufacturer-stated run time, battery specs or cord length provided |
| Up to 11 feet total reach for stairs and above-floor cleaning (evidence: listing) | No detailed materials or build-spec information to assess long-term durability |
| Lightweight design claimed for easier carrying between rooms | Filter replacement intervals and maintenance schedule are not specified |
| Versatile for carpets and bare floors with powerful suction (evidence: listing) | Some shoppers may prefer additional accessories (motorized mini-tool, hard-floor brackets) that aren’t listed |
Who Should Buy
- Pet owners who need dedicated tools for hair on furniture and carpets. The included Pet Power Brush makes pet-hair pickup more practical.
- People with allergy concerns who want a sealed HEPA-equipped system to reduce re-release of fine particles (listing claims 99.9% capture of 0.3 micron particles).
- Apartment dwellers and homeowners who need a single upright to handle floors plus occasional above-floor tasks, thanks to the extendable hose and 11-foot reach.
- Users who prefer a maneuverable machine—swivel steering helps make daily vacuuming less effort.
Who Shouldn’t Buy
- Buyers who require a cordless vacuum—this listing does not specify whether the unit is corded or cordless, so if cordless operation is critical, confirm before buying.
- Those needing precise weight figures to evaluate lifting and stair use; the vacuum is described as lightweight, but exact weight isn’t given.
- Shoppers who demand extensive accessory kits or specialized motorized mini-tools—only a crevice tool, Pet Power Brush and upholstery tool are listed.
- Buyers seeking full technical transparency on power consumption, bin capacity, or detailed materials—these specifications are not listed.

I am very pleased that they just don’t sell the ones with the fuzzy roller on it and I am so excited to have this one in my hands! I love the brush and brissles at the bottom due to picking up heavy duty dog fur. We have two huskies and a golden so I vacuum every two days if not twice a week and thats after them getting bathed and blown out! This will fit all the needs that you have and you can feel the ease of cleaning as well. I love how it pulls as you slightly push it. Solid quality and wouldn’t recommend another. Value for money at the time was a but much but I bit the bullet and got it and I will say I do not regret it.

The vacuum works amazing. It pulled out tons and tons of dust out of my carpet. It is so rewarding to just see that it works. We have a bunny, it did get jammed for use with hay and bunny poops. So I dont reccomend it for that. But it is amazing for regular household use. It’s very easy to clean out. If you have carpets in your home, don’t hesitate, your home will be healthier just by using this.

I vacuum regularly because I have 3 long hair catsand 1 short hair cats. As you can imagine there is cat hair everywhere! I was using the Bissell pet but found it wasn’t working very well. I just bought the Shark, it arrived last night and I vacuumed this morning. The picture attached is what it picked up the first time! I was so grossed out I vacuumed again!! It still picked up more hair! Amazing! I will never use another vacuum again! My carpet feels soft and clean!

I knew my old vacuum wasn’t doing the best job but until I used the Shark Navigator, I had no idea how terrible my old vacuum actually was! The Navigator made my carpets and floors look amazing again. I couldn’t believe how dirty my carpet has been this whole time. I would absolutely recommend it.

I literally threw away all of my old, tired, crappy-looking, filth-spreading brooms after buying this vacuum. It works great on carpets, area rugs, and hard floors, including my 113-year-old hardwood floors (no scratching!). It seriously makes your carpets look like they’re brand new again. It is lightweight and easy to push on carpet, even on Maximum Suction power. Photos show the product fully assembled before using (omg, so shiny!!), plus the accessories it came with, then after using on my living room and one area rug in my dining room. The amount of dirt this thing picks up is disturbing, lol.
I love the lift-away feature and the hose attachments for getting cracks/crevices and stairs! The filters are easy to access and clean, and replacements are reasonably priced. The upholstery tools work really well for pet hair!
For reference, my husband and I both have VERY LONG hair, and we have a cat…so I have included a photo of the brush roll after vacuuming to show that it really works for long hair, too! This is the only vacuum I’ve ever owned that I didn’t have to clean the brush roll after/during every use due to a tangled mess of hair caught in the roll.
Seriously, buy this thing. You won’t regret it. Just be sure to read and follow all the instructions for maintenence!

The suction is very good. Vacuumed just one room and it picked up as much hair, dust and dirt as the old LG model did in 3 rooms. Speaking of LG, all mine needed was a simple roller brush, only to find out they discontinued making it. Maybe a blessing in disguise, as the Shark self-cleaning roller brush is a great feature.
Back to the Shark model:
The self-cleaning roller really worked – inside the dust bin, the dust and dirt went into one chamber, and all the hair collected separately on the center cone and slid right off when I went to empty.
The cord is too short, and it’s placed too low on the machine, so it’s a pain to move around, change directions, etc. It was constantly getting in the way.
The swivel head is helpful and the lower profile gets further under some furniture than our previous LG unit could.
Tried the Lift-Away on a few carpeted stairs, but will need the full power of the roller head to properly clean the stairs. The L-A feature is probably better suited for furniture.
The hose clip is pretty useless. The hose disengages from the wand after a minute of usage. Not a big deal – as the hose doesn’t really go anywhere once it’s loose. All the other click-into-place connections seem secure.
The unit is definitely lightweight – time will tell if it also proves durable?
This was a sold & shipped by Amazon purchase. They lowered the “Limited Time Deal” by $20 right after I bought it. Hopefully Jeff Bezos will read this review and issue a $20 credit…

I’m so happy we bought this! Not only do I have long hair, but our dog is a big hairy dirt magnet and like the old Peanuts cartoon character “Pigpen” a cloud of hair and dust goes with her everywhere. This Shark model with it’s self-cleaning roller and very strong suction is amazing. I can’t believe how many dogs worth of hair and dirt it sucked out of the two rooms with carpet. And the tile in the rest of the house is shiny and dust free. The upholstery attachment works great too. After buying other brands that promise to be good for pets, I was skeptical about purchasing this one. But so far, this Shark is the best upright I’ve ever owned. And it’s very easy to use and easy to empty and clean. If you have long hair and a constantly shedding dog and live in a dusty place like Arizona, you need this one!

I love shark products and I needed a new vacuum. I really have no complaints other than it is a little heavier to push than I thought. I immediately vacuumed my rug and I can’t believe how much stuff it pulled. It sucks everything up and is easy to push around because of the swivel. It doesn’t have a bag so it’s easy to dump out and the hose just clicks right off. It has a hard floor and carpet setting which I really like. You can also pick the suction control.

The Shark vacuum is an absolute game-changer in the world of cleaning appliances. Hands down, it’s the best vacuum I’ve ever owned. It picks up dirt and debris with an efficiency that leaves other vacuums in the dust—literally. The suction power is impressive, making it a breeze to clean carpets, hardwood floors, and even those pesky pet hairs that seem to stick to everything. The maneuverability is top-notch, allowing you to navigate around furniture and tight spaces with ease. Plus, the filters are easy to clean and maintain, which is a huge plus for someone who hates the hassle of frequent replacements. If you’re in the market for a new vacuum, look no further than the Shark—it’s worth every penny.

This takes so much dirt out of my carpets I was floored (pun intended ;P ) I have mostly wood floor but the bedrooms are carpet and this vacuum has great suction. Only annoyance is it falls over when you use the hand tool and pull to far but that it a normal shark thing with all their standup vacuums. It is light weight and easy to dump.

My new vacuum cleaner is simply a miracle! Light, easy to use, convenient, maneuverable, performs its function perfectly! Keep it up, SHARK! 🦈
