Intro

The Shark Navigator Upright Vacuum is a full-size upright designed for household cleaning across carpets, hard floors and above-floor areas. It combines a detachable Lift-Away pod, swivel steering and an anti-allergen sealed system with a HEPA filter to keep dust and particles contained. The tools included aim to make pet hair pickup, edge cleaning and tight-space access easier without swapping machines.

Who this is for: busy households that need a versatile, everyday vacuum that handles carpets, bare floors and furniture, and for owners who want better control over allergens. Quick verdict: A practical, well-rounded upright that balances strong cleaning features with easy maneuverability and above-floor reach.

What’s in the Box

  • Shark Navigator Upright Vacuum (main unit)
  • Wide Upholstery Tool
  • 12″ Crevice Tool
  • 5-year limited warranty (included)
  • Made in USA or Imported (manufacturing origin varies)

If you need additional accessories or specialty tools, they are not specified in the listing.

Design & Build

The Shark Navigator Upright Vacuum prioritizes function over frills. The chassis is built to be lightweight for an upright, which helps when moving the unit from room to room or lifting the detachable pod. Materials and exact weights are not specified in the listing, but the vacuum’s design language follows Shark’s common approach: a plastic body with reinforced handle and visible dust cup for quick emptying.

Ergonomics focus on easy handling. Swivel steering lets you guide the vacuum around furniture legs and into corners without forcing the unit, and the lift-away pod detaches so you can carry the motorized canister to stairs, upholstery or other above-floor areas. Controls are simple and reachable from the handle, and the brushroll shutoff is an on-unit switch that toggles between carpet-focused deep cleaning and gentler bare-floor mode.

Build quality aims to be durable for regular household use; the listing includes a 5-year limited warranty, which provides added assurance about longevity for many shoppers.

Key Features

Lift-Away Functionality: Detachable Pod for Above-Floor Cleaning

Benefit: The Lift-Away system lets you remove the pod and carry a lighter, self-contained unit to reach stairs, sofas, drapes and other above-floor surfaces that an upright typically can’t access without awkward angling.

Real-life use: Detach the pod to clean carpeted stairs quickly or to address pet hair on couches without bending or dragging the full vacuum. For multi-level homes, this saves time and reduces strain when moving the cleaning head between floors.

Anti-Allergen Complete Seal Technology + HEPA Filter

Benefit: The sealed system, used in combination with a HEPA filter, traps fine dust and allergens inside the vacuum instead of releasing them back into the air. This is valuable for households with allergy sensitivities or asthma.

Real-life use: When vacuuming bedrooms and living areas, the sealed filtration helps reduce airborne irritants during and after cleaning—especially useful when dusting or agitating carpets where dust is stirred up. The HEPA filter captures tiny particles that standard filters miss. (Note: filtration details are those listed by the manufacturer.)

Powerful Yet Lightweight Operation

Benefit: You get a cleaning head designed to pull dirt from deep in carpets while the overall unit remains light enough to move comfortably between rooms and carry when using the Lift-Away mode.

Real-life use: The balance of suction and portability means you can run longer cleaning sessions without frequent breaks for rest. Moving the vacuum between carpeted living rooms and bare-floor kitchens is less tiring than with heavier uprights.

Brushroll Shutoff: Switch Between Carpet and Hard Floors

Benefit: An instant brushroll shutoff lets you stop the rotating brush when switching to bare floors, preventing scattering of debris and protecting delicate surfaces.

Real-life use: Flip the brushroll off for hardwood, tile or laminate to avoid surface scratches and to smoothly collect dust and debris without the beating action used for carpets.

Swivel Steering for Tight Spaces

Benefit: The vacuum’s steering system turns more fluidly around furniture and into corners, which reduces the need to repeatedly reposition the whole unit.

Real-life use: Navigating around table legs, sofa bases and clustered living room setups becomes quicker. Swivel steering helps when doing edge-to-edge passes without losing line-of-sight to the cleaning head.

Pet Hair Tools: Wide Upholstery Tool and Pickup Accessories

Benefit: Designed with pet owners in mind, the wide upholstery tool and included attachments make it easier to lift embedded pet hair from couches, stairs, and fabric surfaces.

Real-life use: Use the wide upholstery tool across couch cushions and pet beds to pull up fur without pushing it deeper into fabric. The included crevice tool helps remove hair and dander from tight seams and between cushions.

Crevice Tool for Hard-to-Reach Areas

Benefit: The 12″ crevice tool extends your reach into baseboards, air vents, narrow gaps and ceilings for detail work.

Real-life use: Clean along baseboards and inside shallow cabinetry gaps or reach the tops of bookshelves and curtain tracks without having to bring a separate hand vacuum.

Where to buy

Performance & Use

Setup and daily use are straightforward. Unbox the vacuum, attach the necessary tools (wide upholstery or crevice tool) to the wand or handle, and you’re ready for a standard cleaning session. The dust cup is bagless, so emptying it is a simple peel-and-dump operation—though exact cup capacity is not specified in the listing, so you’ll want to check how often you need to empty it based on your home’s dirt levels.

For best results on mixed flooring, start with a quick pass while the brushroll is running to loosen embedded dirt in carpets, then switch to brushroll shutoff for hardwood and tile areas. If you have pets, use the wide upholstery tool to clean furniture and stairs before vacuuming floors—this prevents hair left on furniture from falling onto freshly cleaned floors.

Maintenance tips:

  • Empty the dust cup when it reaches the maximum fill line to maintain suction and prevent clogs.
  • Inspect the brushroll periodically and remove tangled hair or fibers; the brushroll shutoff allows for safer cleaning and longer brush life.
  • Replace the HEPA filter per the manufacturer’s guidance (replacement intervals are not specified in the listing).
  • Check hose and wand connections for blockages if suction decreases.

Warranty and service: The unit comes with a 5-year limited warranty, which covers certain defects and can provide peace of mind for long-term ownership (source: listing).

Who Should Buy

  • Households with mixed flooring (carpets + hard floors) that want a single upright to handle both.
  • Pet owners who need a vacuum with pet-focused tools and strong pickup for hair on upholstery and stairs.
  • Allergy-conscious buyers who want a sealed system and HEPA filtration to reduce airborne particles.
  • People who prefer a traditional upright design but want the flexibility of a detachable pod for above-floor cleaning.

Who Shouldn’t Buy

  • Buyers who need battery-powered cordless freedom—this model is a corded upright (power source specifics are not listed; verify before purchase).
  • Users who require very specific numerical specs up front (weight, dust cup capacity, noise levels, suction figures)—those details are not provided in the listing and may matter for specialized needs.
  • Households that need a lightweight handheld-only solution; while the pod is detachable, this is still primarily an upright vacuum.

Final Thoughts & Buying Advice

If you want a dependable upright that adapts to carpets, hard floors and above-floor cleaning without adding a separate handheld or cordless vacuum, the Shark Navigator Upright Vacuum is a strong contender. It brings together a sealed HEPA filtration system, a detachable Lift-Away pod for stairs and upholstery, and tools geared toward pet owners—features that make it an efficient everyday cleaning tool for many homes.

Before you buy: confirm any specific numerical needs you have—such as vacuum weight, dust cup size, cord length or replacement filter part numbers—since those particulars aren’t listed here. The included 5-year limited warranty adds reassurance, and the combination of wide upholstery and crevice tools addresses common cleaning pain points.

If this fits your cleaning priorities, it’s worth checking current pricing and bundled offers. The unit’s mix of performance features and convenience make it a practical choice for households that value thorough cleaning without complexity.

I actually was in the market for a new vacuum as there were parts breaking on my Bissell 2999. (Dust buildup inside the motor housing leading to bearing whine, brush roller wear that required modification to prevent additional damage, as well as handle damage that prevented the vacuum handle from staying locked in place and later being unable to be removed as it got jammed slightly at an angle.)

Moving on, this is actually a step up, despite having got it at a substantially lower price (99 dollars verse the original Bissell 2999 price being around 200 dollars.) I wanted something that people praised for higher reliability, and this advertised a limited 5 year warranty. I got it, because 99 for a well reviewed vacuum was excellent in idea. I then looked at reviews all over the internet only to find out more and more that the Shark NV360 was way better than expected.

My only caveats to date are that it has a smaller agitator head, and that it doesn’t come with a agitator attachment, you’d need to get the Pro version NV356E to get the agitator attachment. It does come with a smaller crevasse tool and a very functional upholstery tool that also worked very very well on the stairs.

Suction on this vacuum is amazing. Especially compared to my Bissell 2999. I have Hoover and Bissell Vacuums, and the 2999 was better than my previous vacuums, but oddly not better than this current one from Shark, the NV360 just to keep things clear. The hose diameter is larger, and that typically means less pressure for most vacuums, however, that is not the case here. You really need to be careful when using the attachments as it will suck up a sock you may have got too close too and it’ll all be too fast to recover from anywhere other than the dust bin.

Emptying the dustbin is more involved than my Bissell and Hoover vacuums, where a single button press allows you to pull the bin from its’ resting place. In the case of the Shark, you will need to undo two latches that secure the bin in place, but while I thought this would be a bigger problem it has not been. Installing the bin has been a bigger issue than removing it but the process is still really simple. The dual latch does offer the better seal though as it allows for more uniform pressure on the seal under neath and keeps the dust flowing down. It does seem that the foam prefilter would need more cleans than my Bissell 2999 required, but I found that dust released from the Bissell system would agitate my nose a touch, because allergies, while I have had zero incidents of that with the shark. (The Bissell 2999 was still the best I had before I got this NV360 for allergies I experienced, I just thought it was because it was kicking something up but dust patterns formed later in its’ life showing it was some dust leakage.)

Moving this around is easier than the Bissell 2999 as well, but that is partially because the base is smaller. Both were swivel style vacuums but the NV360 does better on tighter turns than the Bissell. The smaller head seems to also focus more of the dust into the dust bin. Going over areas the Bissell seamed done with, I found that there was still a ton of dirt and dust embedded into the carpet even after 8 passes with the Bissell. I only knew there was more because even though I wasn’t getting anything more on the 8th pass with the Bissell, going over the same area with the NV360 showed there was still a lot of dust left in the carpet. The Bissell did get all the dog hair though and there was only dust and dirt that the shark was able to extract. (This also lead me to do a carpet clean though, as I have a Bissel carpet cleaner that I really like and I finished the job with that.)

My lesson learned though is that even with a great vacuum like the Shark or my previous best Bissell, you may have to vacuum more often than every 3-4 days as that dirt just keeps getting deeper if you dont.

Moving on, I am actually very impressed and absolutely can recommend this vacuum to anyone who needs something better. I absolutely can recommend it to anyone who has allergies like me as well. Best vacuum to date. Side note though, when researching vacuums, I did find that the Shark Stratos and Rotator options are more amazing when it comes to airflow and pressure as well as large objects and long hair, but they are between 200 and 300 dollars. For me this is the best option for now, especially seeing it was only 99 dollars when I got it.

This vacuum cleaner has very strong suction, and sucks up an incredible amount of dirt. It is a little heavy, but it’s a small price to pay for the quality of the cleaning. Unfortunately, it is a parallel import, and therefore the guarantee is not valid, and apparently repairs are not available through the seller, so I’m hoping it lasts a long time, but despite that problem, I’m still very happy with it.

Used it for the first time today and so far it’s great.

    PROS:
Picked up all of the dog hair on my carpeted stairs in under 5 minutes with minimal effort. The “brushroll on” feature is amazing! It pulled the vacuum along for me and all I had to do was guide it, barely any effort required. The long hose with handle came in handy when cleaning around the baseboards, I did not need to bend over and hurt my back. It is fairly quiet, has great suction, picked up everything quickly and I was shocked at how much dog hair it grabbed! IF YOU HAVE DOGS I PROMISE YOU YOU NEED THIS! The canister was easy to remove and empty.

    CONS:
It is heavier than my old vacuum (not really a con as it is made with high quality materials). It does tip over easily when using the long arm with the handle especially on stairs (an easy fix if you sturdy it with your leg). There is no place on the vacuum for the pet hair removal accessory, unless I haven’t found it yet? It does not have a quick retraction cord which is annoying because everything else about this vacuum is amazing! Poor design choice.

This was my first ever vaccum (that I bought with my money). Some people recommended Shark to me so I decided to give this one a try for my first apartment.

It is not too loud. It is lightweight and easy to turn. There is plenty of cord even though I live in a small space. I rolled out my brand new handmade rug and decided to vaccum because it came slightly opened and im glad I did. It filled about 1/4 full after going over it twice w/ bare floor level and once with the brush on. You can smell the dust/dirt but I feel like thats with just about any vaccum. It has two filters that can be rinsed and dried every 3 months as recommended. It is a good vaccum and works well. Great value for your money.

So far, we love everything about this vacuum. I’m blown away by the power/suction it has. Not only does it pick up everything off of a rug, but also wood and linoleum floors (which is what we have mostly) but we use those vacuum-seal bags to store off-season clothes and linens and it sucks so much more air out sooo quickly! Our old vacuum was so lame compared to this one. But we have a big rug and a runner, and probably getting more rugs later. I like the fact that you can take the small canister off and use the extension wand to clean corners and up above on the ceiling (we have fairly high ceilings). It’s also very lightweight and doesn’t take up a lot of space. It fits in a cupboard we bought to store it, that is 16″x16″x 6′. We’ve only had it for a month, but our son and his girlfriend bought the vacuum and I went to look at it before we ordered it and they’ve had it for a few months and have no complaints about it. I’m really happy we spent a little extra to get this one. We haven’t used it a lot, so haven’t had to empty the canister yet, but my son showed me how to do it and it looks like a breeze. The other thing, is that it does pull easier than push and we’re vacuuming a .5″ pile carpet. Of course on the wood/linoleum floors, no problems. The one thing I was not happy about is that I tried to call the Customer Service number 15 min. before their posted closing time and they were closed and when I sent them an email it bounced. I’ve not yet pursued that, but I will. My son said they had no problems with them when they discovered they were missing one of the brushes and it was sent to them.. We also didn’t get the pet brush that was supposed to come with it, but we don’t have any pets, so not an issue for us. Overall, I’d say that this is a great product and with the short time we’ve had it, we like it.

Awesome vacuum. Lightweight, easy to move about, and great suction. I was happy to get rid of our old heavy vacuum and replace it with this one.
This has been in use for months, and it’s working great.

I’ve been using this vacuum for some time now and I think it is excellent. I don’t need a $500 or $700 vacuum. This one does everything I need it to do quite well. I like the two different suction levels, since I have a number of area rugs that get sucked up by the higher suction level, which is much better for carpeting that won’t move. There are only two attachements that came with it and they are probably adequate, but I saved other attachments from a previous vacuum made by a different manufacturer and they work with this vacuum.

It is easy to empty the vacuum and relatively easy to clean the inside of the tank.

I don’t see any reason why this vacuum won’t last for all the years I need it to last. Looking at the suggestions for what to mention, I would say that the cord length is more that adequate and I haven’t had any issue with any “smell” associated with this vacuum. I like the size and weight of the vacuum. It is easy to lift, move around, and store out of the way.

All-in-all, I like this vacuum a lot more than my previous, more expensive, heavier, bulkier vacuum made by Hoover. Replacement filters for this vacuum are reasonably priced and much less expensive than those for the Hoover.

Would I recommend this vacuum? Absolutely! I live in a relatively small apartment with a mix of area rugs and carpeting. I have no complaints at all about this machine and would certainly buy it again if my cat ate this one.

The Shark Lift Away is an Awesome Strong cleaning machine!!! I love it!!! It’s so light weight! I’ve had it for 2 months now, i use it every day! 2 very hairy100+ lb Yellow Labs!!! Hair is everywhere, everyday!!! This Shark works great! Out performs the 3 Dyson pet models I’ve had, they don’t last very long with all this hair! The Shark is very simple to use, the way the handle pops off as a direct tool, or take the canister off & easily get around the furniture! Such a good priced machine! I found the Dyson heavy, i needed to double back over the area every time as I vacuumed. Not with the Shark! 1 swipe and the hairy is gone!!! I love just plugging in the Shark as i drink my coffee and get the hair gone!!! Easy Dumping, and weekly washing the canister and filters keeps it smelling good, clean! The canister holds a good volume of hair and dirt!
I give this Shark A+A+A+!!! I LOVE IT!

The suction on the Shark NV352 is unbelievably good! I had already vacuumed my carpets today when the Shark arrived and I had to try it out. The amount of dust and dirt that it took out of the carpet was remarkable! And gross! The vacuum is a little hard to push/pull because it’s got such strong suction but totally worth getting used to for the amount of clean it brings. It works SO well! I have no issue with the cord length it’s great! The cup had a smaller capacity than I knew I’d need but that could be because the carpets I thought were clean really weren’t. I’m sure once I go over the areas a few more times it’ll get out a lot more dirt and won’t have as much debris/ dust to pick up. At a PD price I am so pleased to have bought this for under $150. I highly recommend.

Great vacuum. Picks up dog hair and dirt. I have children and dogs and this vacuum is efficient. Assembly was easy. I wish there was a roller brush attachment for the stairs. The lift away option comes in handy when vacuuming stairs and blinds.
The only negative thing I’d say about the vacuum is it is a bit heavy. My children have a difficult time using it due to how hard it is to push (that may also be because of the suction strength …which is definitely strong).
