Introduction
The Eureka NEU10AE5 is an affordable upright vacuum designed for everyday cleaning across hard floors and low- to medium-pile carpets. It markets itself on a combination of a relatively wide cleaning path, simple onboard tools, and a very light physical weight that makes quick jobs and multi-level homes easier to manage.
This model is aimed at people who want a no-frills, easy-to-store vacuum for routine household cleaning — especially apartments, smaller homes, or as a second vacuum for quick touch-ups. Quick verdict: a compact, easy-to-handle upright that covers basic needs well but leaves some performance details unspecified by the manufacturer.
What’s in the Box
- Eureka NEU10AE5 upright vacuum cleaner (main unit)
- Crevice tool (attaches to handle) (source: listing, checked 2025)
- Dusting brush (attaches to handle) (source: listing, checked 2025)
- Washable filter (installed) (source: listing, checked 2025)
- User manual / paperwork — Not specified
If any other accessories, replacement parts, or a warranty card are included, they are not specified in the listing.
Design & Build
The listing does not list specific materials or finish details, so the housing and trim materials are Not specified. What is clear is the design intent: compact, upright form with lightweight construction. At 7.7 pounds, the Eureka NEU10AE5 is easy to lift and move around the house (source: listing, checked 2025). That featherweight profile makes this model simple to carry up and down stairs, store in a closet, or keep in a pantry for fast access.
Ergonomics and storage are emphasized in the product description: the handle releases for above-floor cleaning, and the crevice tool and dusting brush snap to the handle so tools are always within reach (source: listing, checked 2025). Storage footprint and exact folded height are not listed, but the compact claim suggests it will fit in smaller storage spaces.
Because material specifics such as reinforced plastic, metal components, or wheel construction are not stated, I’m not making claims about long-term durability. The build appears aimed at light-to-moderate household use rather than heavy commercial or all-day deep-clean cycles.
Key Features
Powerful all-floor suction
The listing states “powerful all floor suction” and positions the vacuum for use on both hard floors and carpets. In practice, that means the cleaner is intended as an all-purpose household tool that should handle daily dirt, dust, and pet hair in typical home environments (source: listing, checked 2025). Where this helps: quick weekly passes over living rooms, kitchens, and bedroom floors, or fast pickups after meals and small spills.
10.5-inch wide cleaning path
A 10.5” wide cleaning path lets you cover more ground per pass compared with very narrow handhelds or stick vacuums (source: listing, checked 2025). This helps reduce the time it takes to vacuum a room, particularly open-plan living areas or long carpet runs. It’s a useful compromise between maneuverability and coverage for average-sized rooms.
Quick-release handle for above-floor cleaning
The handle detaches to allow attachment of the crevice tool or dusting brush at the handle end (source: listing, checked 2025). That makes it easier to reach upholstery seams, curtains, windowsills, and tight stair corners without having to switch to a separate handheld vacuum. For apartment dwellers or pet owners who need to clean couches and stairs frequently, this is a practical convenience.
On-board crevice tool and dusting brush
Tools snap into place on the vacuum so they’re always on board and ready to use (source: listing, checked 2025). Not having to rummage for attachments speeds up small cleaning jobs and ensures you won’t lose the small accessories — a common annoyance.
Lightweight & easy storage
Weighing only 7.7 pounds, this is positioned as a genuinely lightweight upright — especially compared with many traditional uprights that often weigh 10–20+ pounds (source: listing, checked 2025). The low weight reduces arm strain when carrying between floors and makes it more likely you’ll grab the vacuum for a quick clean instead of postponing it.
Use case: for a person who cleans several short sessions per week or needs to frequently move the unit between rooms, the lightweight design is a real advantage.
Washable filter and bagless design
The vacuum uses a washable filter that can be rinsed and left to dry, which lowers ongoing maintenance costs and supports a more environmentally friendly approach compared with disposable bags (source: listing, checked 2025). The bagless design means you won’t need to buy replacement bags, and emptying the dust compartment is straightforward — suitable for households that prefer low recurring costs.
Where to buy
Performance & Use
Real-world performance depends on expectations and what you need the vacuum to do. The Eureka NEU10AE5 is designed for routine home cleaning — dust, crumbs, light debris, and pet hair — rather than specialized deep-cleaning on high-pile carpets or industrial levels of dirt.
Set-up tips
- Read the manual first to confirm how the handle releases and where each tool attaches; tools snap into the handle for easy access (source: listing, checked 2025).
- Rinse the washable filter before first use as recommended, and let it dry completely to avoid motor issues. The listing notes the filter is washable (source: listing, checked 2025).
Daily use
- Use the 10.5” wide head for broad strokes across rooms; slow, overlapping passes work better than rushing. (Tip: go a little slower over transitional areas like carpets to pick up ground-in debris.)
- Snap on the crevice tool or dusting brush for edges, baseboards, upholstery, and stairs — the handle-mounted design is useful for quick above-floor tasks (source: listing, checked 2025).
Maintenance
- Empty the dust compartment after moderate fills to preserve suction; the exact dust cup capacity is Not specified.
- Rinse the washable filter when it visibly accumulates dust; allow it to air dry fully before reinstalling to prevent moisture from reaching the motor (source: listing, checked 2025).
- Check brush roll and intake for tangled hair — the listing doesn’t specify a self-cleaning brush roll, so manual hair removal may be necessary.
What’s not specified that matters
- The listing does not provide motor wattage, suction (airflow) figures, dustbin capacity, cord length, or warranty details. If these are important to you, check the retailer page or contact the manufacturer before purchasing.
Practical tips for pet owners
- The included dusting brush and crevice tool are helpful for removing pet hair from upholstery and tight spots (source: listing, checked 2025). The washable filter helps reduce replacement costs if you have frequent cleanups. For heavy shedding breeds, expect to check the brush and intake often for accumulated hair.

Who Should Buy
- People who need an inexpensive, lightweight upright for everyday cleaning of hard floors and low- to medium-pile carpets.
- Apartment dwellers or multi-level homeowners who will appreciate a unit they can carry easily between rooms and stairs.
- Households looking to avoid the recurring cost of vacuum bags — the washable filter and bagless design match that preference (source: listing, checked 2025).
- Anyone who values on-board tools for quick above-floor cleanups (upholstery, windowsills, crevices).
Who Shouldn’t Buy
- Users seeking detailed performance metrics (suction power, airflow, dust capacity) — those specs aren’t supplied in the listing and may be important for buyers focused on deep-cleaning performance.
- Homes with very deep, high-pile carpets or heavy-duty cleaning needs; the listing positions this more for regular household maintenance than industrial or deep-extraction cleaning.
- Buyers who need specialized pet tools like motorized pet mini-tools; only a crevice tool and dusting brush are listed (source: listing, checked 2025).

Final thoughts & buying advice
The Eureka NEU10AE5 is a no-nonsense upright that does the basics: a reasonably wide cleaning path, lightweight handling, onboard tools, and a washable filter for lower operating costs (source: listing, checked 2025). If you want a simple, easy-to-store upright for everyday touch-ups and standard household messes, this model is a practical option.
If you need detailed performance metrics, specialized pet cleaning attachments, or heavy-duty deep-cleaning capability, you should confirm those specs with the seller or consider a model with published suction and brush-roll details. For quick, frequent cleaning sessions where portability and simplicity matter, this upright vacuum cleaner is worth considering.
If you decide to buy, compare retailer listings for the best price and confirm any missing specs (cord length, dustcup size, warranty) before checking out.

Amazing vacuum!
I’m allergic to cats and have to vacuum my small house (900 sq. ft.) every day. I also have seven dislocated vertebrae and two herniated discs, which makes vacuuming difficult.
I was stunned at how much dirt and hair I vacuumed up the first time. I vacuumed yesterday, but you wouldn’t know it.
This vacuum is an absolute powerhouse, and I hope the suction remains as powerful as time goes on.
It’s extremely lightweight, and my back doesn’t hurt after vacuuming. It was literally a snap to put together, and the price was right.
I highly recommend it to everyone.
Incidentally, I’ve bought five vacuums in the last three years, and none compare to this one. I don’t understand why it doesn’t have five stars across the board. Buy it!

And we all safe

I really love this vacuum cleaner! It’s super easy to use and picks up debris quickly, both on carpet and hard floors. It’s lightweight, has great suction power, and works fast — no endless back-and-forth needed.
The attachments are a big plus, making it simple to clean those hard-to-reach spots. Overall, it’s a high-quality brand that gets the job done.
My only “issue”? I can’t keep my daughter from borrowing it for her side of the house — that’s how good it is!

This is a lovely lightweight vacuum, BUT it comes with a USA style two pin plug, so you can buy a converter to change it to a three pin, but I didn’t think the power would be same as the UK, so I returned it

This vacuum is small but mighty!!! I love it! I have pets and I like to keep my place clean. I always dread pulling out the big vacuum. This vacuum is light in weight but has strong suction. I was impressed with how much fur was in the vacuum and how clean my floors were! The price is great and it is easy to set up, plug in and use! Don’t hesitate! Buy it!

Great if you don’t have pets with fur. The motor is very good. However, I find myself cleaning the brush after each use or else nothing collects in the canister.
This vacuum is excellent for small jobs. If you have one or two rooms with carpet, less than 10′ by 10′, this should work great for you. If you have only rugs and carpeted stairs, this probably will work great for you. If you have pets, such as canines or felines or anything else with fur, you may find yourself seriously frustrated with the maintenance to keep all things suction working.
About once per month, I have to remove the bottom plate covering the brush, which requires a lot of unscrewing using a Phillips head. I also have to remove the actual brush from the rubber belt that keeps it turning. Be prepared to wear disposable gloves when you clean the brush; it would be unsanitary not to use them. Have fun re-screwing it back in place.
Good vacuum but not meant for heavy duty use. LIGHT USE ONLY.

Please do not buy, I bought this, it was not a uk plug, so I purchased a world plug to use with this product, started to hoover it quickly smelt of burning, I heard the plug socket make a noise, next minute there was a pop sound, flames then smoke, I had to run downstairs turn all my electrics off, my children had to open their bedroom windows and we all had to come down stairs, due to the smoke and smell that also set my fire alarm off.
I called amazon about this, all they have done is make a refund, its disgusting.
Please do not buy this situation could have been worse, its scared and traumatised my children.

Given how cheap it was, it’s a pretty good vacuum. It is pretty small, not very wide, and has a relatively short power cord. But, I will say that it’s powerful, effective in picking up hair and dust, easy to maneuver, and not hard to empty once the container is full. We have a dog that sheds a lot so we go through vacuums often, and this one fit the bill nicely for being inexpensive yet effective. Hopefully it lasts more than a year, and if so, we’ll call it a win.
Pink Singh –
It’s light weight, just what I needed. Our 50 yr old Kirby was just to heavy to push around and carry up and down the stairs. The big surprise was how well this vac cleans. I had to empty the canister twice just to do the living room throw rug. That tells me the old Kirby wasn’t doing the job. I also like that I don’t smell dust in the air when using this Eureka vac. Others here have complained about having to empty the canister a few times to do a room. Well that should tell them that it is working very well and cleaning the room. Yes it can slow down and stop sucking after a short while but the means you need to clean out the hair, lint and material in the top of the canister.
The thinks I like the most is that for us and close to 80 yrs old it is light weight. It cleans deep pulling the ground in dirt out of the carpets and rugs. It light enough to lift and clean the shelf’s and cabinets. The washable filter is great, really keeps the air from smelling of dust and pine pollen here in the backwoods.
Good buy, we wish we had bought this years ago.

I am so impressed with this Eureka vacuum cleaner! The “ultra-lightweight” description is no exaggeration—it’s incredibly easy to maneuver, making it a breeze to carry up and down stairs. Despite its light weight, the suction is very powerful and picks up everything from pet hair to fine dust on both carpets and hard floors. The bagless design and included replacement filter are also a huge plus, making maintenance simple and cost-effective. It’s a fantastic value for the price and has made cleaning my home so much easier.
