Quick overview: what this is and who it’s for

The Eureka PowerSpeed is an upright household vacuum designed for everyday cleaning on a mix of surfaces — from bare floors to medium-pile carpets. The latest model highlights an upgraded cyclone approach that aims to capture larger bits and microscopic dust while keeping the machine light enough for stair and above-floor tasks.

If you want a straightforward, budget-friendly vacuum that balances suction and maneuverability for apartments, family homes, or quick car cleanups, this is built for that use. Quick verdict: a practical, no-frills cleaner that performs well across floors but requires routine brush maintenance.

Design & build

The PowerSpeed takes a functional, lightweight approach. Materials and finish are typical of value upright models: a mix of molded plastics for the housing and accessories, with a visible brush roll under the floor head. The unit emphasizes a low weight so that it can be carried up and down stairs and maneuvered for above-floor cleaning via the quick-release handle and stretch hose.

Its wheels are designed to roll smoothly across hardwood and other hard floors to reduce the risk of scratching or gouging — useful if you have delicate flooring. The vacuum also offers five height settings to adapt the cleaning head for different pile heights, from flat hard surfaces to shag rugs.

Ergonomics are straightforward: the handle and onboard accessory storage keep frequently used tools within reach. Because the design favors portability and simplicity over heavy-duty construction, expect moderate durability consistent with other lightweight uprights rather than pro-grade metal-bodied machines.

Key features

Upgraded cyclone system

Benefit: The upgraded cyclone approach separates larger debris from fine particles more effectively than simple filtration alone. In real life, that means less chance of clogs from cereal bits or pet kibble and improved ability to maintain suction as the dust cup fills. This is particularly helpful in households with both coarse debris and fine dust, where a single-stage collector can lose performance quickly.

(Note: the listing describes this as “cyclone technology” and an upgrade; the specific cyclone design and stages are not detailed — source: listing.)

Strong pickup on carpets

Benefit: The PowerSpeed is engineered to penetrate deeper into carpet fibers to remove embedded dirt and dust. For homes with medium-pile carpet or high traffic areas (hallways, kids’ playrooms), this translates to visibly cleaner fibers and fewer visible crumbs or tracked-in soil after a single pass. The adjustable height settings help optimize brush contact so you can avoid excessive drag on thicker rugs.

Lightweight portability

Benefit: The lighter weight makes routine chores less taxing — easier to lift for stairs, carry into closets, or move between rooms. If you frequently clean multi-level homes or like to do quick spot cleans, the lower weight is a practical advantage over heavier uprights.

Five height settings

Benefit: With five distinct nozzle heights, the PowerSpeed adapts to a spectrum of surfaces: thin rugs, medium carpet, shag, and hard floors. This adjustability helps you avoid overworking the motor on high-pile rugs and prevents the brush roll from skipping on low profiles. In practice, switching to the right setting reduces re-pass cleaning and improves overall efficiency.

On-board accessories for above-floor cleaning

Benefit: The included quick-release handle, stretch hose and three tools (crevice, dusting brush, upholstery) expand the vacuum’s reach without needing a separate handheld unit. This makes it convenient to tackle curtains, car interiors, ceilings, and upholstered furniture with the same machine. Having tools stored onboard means you’re less likely to misplace attachments, which speeds up multi-surface cleaning sessions.

Filtration that targets allergens

Benefit: The vacuum is said to trap 99.9% of dust, dander and allergens (source: listing). For allergy-prone households, this level of particulate capture can reduce airborne irritants after vacuuming. Note that the listing does not specify the exact filter type (HEPA vs. sealed multi-stage), so if you have clinically severe allergies, confirm the filtration details with the seller or manufacturer.

Where to buy

Performance & real-world use

Setup

  • Unbox, attach the handle and any on-board accessories, and ensure the brush roll is free of shipping ties or protective strips. The listing does not specify detailed setup steps; consult the included manual for model-specific instructions.

Daily use

  • The PowerSpeed performs well for weekly vacuuming routines and quick spot jobs. It handles mixed debris (crumbs, pet hair, dust) effectively across hard floors and carpets when you match the height setting to the surface.
  • The brush roll and the belt operate as the primary mechanical systems; these should be checked regularly.

Maintenance tips

  • Warning from the manufacturer/listing: the floor brush may become clogged with hair and debris. Clean the roller brush and the belt every two weeks to prevent malfunction and reduce the risk of smoke or a broken belt. Performing this maintenance keeps suction consistent and extends the life of the drive components.
  • Empty the dust cup before it becomes overly full to maintain airflow and suction efficiency. Rinseable dust cups are common, but the listing does not specify whether this model’s cup can be washed — check the manual.
  • Inspect the brush roll for trapped strings, hair, and fibers. Use scissors or a seam ripper to remove entangling threads; replace the brush or belt if wear is visible.

Noise and power

  • The listing does not provide decibel ratings or motor wattage. Anecdotally, upright vacuums in this class are moderately loud under full load but tolerable for routine household use. For exact noise figures or electrical ratings, refer to the manufacturer specs or product label — Not listed.

Suitability for pets and cars

  • The combination of the brush roll and onboard upholstery and crevice tools makes the unit useful for pet hair on furniture and car interiors. Use the upholstery tool and brush for fabric surfaces and the crevice tool for tight seams in car seats. Persistent pet hair may still require targeted passes, especially on deep fabrics.

When it doesn’t work as well

  • Very high-pile carpets or professional deep-clean requirements may reveal limits: the lightweight motor and narrow cleaning path aren’t substitutes for a dedicated commercial-grade deep cleaner. Also, if you rely on sealed HEPA filtration for severe allergies, confirm the exact filter system before purchasing.

Pros vs Cons

Pros Cons
Lightweight and easy to carry — good for stairs and quick jobs. (source: listing) Brush roll and belt require biweekly cleaning or risk malfunction; ongoing maintenance necessary. (source: listing)
Upgraded cyclone approach for better debris separation and sustained suction. (source: listing) Filtration specifics (e.g., HEPA certification) are not listed; check if you need medical-grade allergen control.
Five height settings adapt to rugs, shag, and hard floors for better cleaning contact. (source: listing) Exact motor power and noise levels are not specified — may not suit users who need detailed technical specs.
On-board tools and quick-release handle for above-floor and car cleaning — stored on board for convenience. (source: listing) Durable, heavy-duty cleaning or commercial environments may demand a more robust machine.
Wheels designed to protect hardwood floors from scratching. (source: listing) Some components are plastic; long-term durability is typical for budget uprights, not industrial models. (inferred)

Who should buy this

  • Families with kids and pets who want decent pickup for crumbs and pet hair and appreciate the convenience of on-board tools.

Who shouldn’t buy this

  • Buyers who require professional-grade deep cleaning or commercial durability.
  • People who need fully certified HEPA filtration for severe allergy or asthma management (filtration type not fully specified).
  • Users who prefer cordless convenience or need explicit battery/run-time specs (this model’s power source is not detailed in the listing).

Final verdict and buying advice

The Eureka PowerSpeed is a practical, lightweight upright tuned for everyday cleaning across hard floors and carpets. Its upgraded cyclone design and onboard tools make it a versatile choice for households that need reliable pickup without heavy bulk. The trade-offs are typical of this category: limited hardware detail on the listing, and a need for regular brush/belt maintenance to avoid problems.

If you want an affordable, easy-to-handle vacuum for mixed-surface cleaning and occasional above-floor jobs, the PowerSpeed is worth considering. If you need industrial power, detailed technical specifications, or confirmed medical-grade filtration, look for higher-end or specialized models.

Closing CTA: If this matches the kind of regular cleaning you do, check the seller listing for the exact bundle and warranty details, and verify any missing specs that matter to you before buying.

Truly one of the best purchases I have ever made. I bought this vacuum while temporarily living elsewhere as a temporary solution. Instead of using for a little while I have used it consistently for over 3 years. For such an inexpensive vacuum it is perfect on hard surface floors. I have three pets and ungodly amount of pet hair that I deal with and it manages it perfectly!!!! I can’t speak to carpets because I don’t have any but I do have machine washable rugs and it’s too powerful for those. It picks up everything put in front of it.

The sweeper does an excellent job whether it’s on carpet or on a hardwood floor we use it for a vinyl flooring living in the south we always get a little bit of sand and so it does a great job of cleaning it up before we wash the floors. Does a great job on carpet. It’s lightweight. Certainly be a Good item to have for your home at a reasonable price.

Powerful, affordable vacuum! Immediately after vacuuming our carpet with our old vacuum we tried the Eureka – amazing results as the Eureka picked up a lot more dirt! Highly recommended! One suggested improvement would be to add a light to this vacuum, otherwise a perfect product.

This is a fantastic vacuum at such a very low price. It’s a full size and has incredible suction. Very easy assembly and comes with 3 attachments. I like that you can take the hassle out with a push of a button reroute the hose and use it to clean higher up things. Also press a button to remove the canister and another to empty it without having to use your hands to remove the contents. The blue color is very sleek looking. I love everything about it but the price for what you get is the best thing about it.

The Eureka upright vacuum is a fantastic balance of power and convenience. It’s surprisingly lightweight, making it easy to move around and carry up stairs. The suction is strong on both carpets and hard floors, picking up dust, pet hair, and crumbs effortlessly.

The swivel head and user-friendly design help me reach tight corners and under furniture, and the dust cup is easy to empty. However, I do wish I had gotten the newer version with the detachable handheld part — carrying this vacuum around different rooms can get hectic. Overall, it’s a great no-fuss vacuum, but a detachable feature would make it even better.

Okay I’ll be honest, at first I was sceptical because I’d not heard of the brand before and the price point was so good. When it was delivered I definitely got a look from my partner about this random vacuum I bought off Amazon lol. HOWEVER, it took all of 3 minutes to put together and read the instruction papers, we then immediately gave it a go and let me tell you, this did not disappoint. We had a shark vacuum prior to this that crapped out on us after 2 years, I think it really struggled with the fur and dirt produced by our 3 fur babies. So something a little more heavy duty with good suction was a must.
My partner and I were SHOCKED at how much dirt and fur this thing yanked out of the shag rug in our living room. I kind of wish I had taken a picture, it was that much. All doubt was gone after the first use, this is the real deal.
I like that the height of the head can be adjusted for the type of surface you’re using it on, I think the people saying it’s difficult to push just may be forgetting to adjust it. The suction is obviously fantastic, and it’s very easy to take the container out to dispose of the dirt and clean it out. The one negative about it is the hose length- it needs to be longer! I was leaning down using the crevice tool and the vacuum fell on my head haha. So, needs much more length to actually be practical for use.
I’ve used it several times since and can honestly say I’m still totally amazed by how much crap this pulls out of the rugs, I feel like we’ve been living in squalor this whole time and didn’t even know it, deceived by our old vacuum. Get this!

Bought this to replace a more expensive Hoover that wasn’t very old but the bottom plate broke and wasn’t replaceable. I wasn’t going to spend much this time and got this Eureka. It works okay but you can tell it’s an economy model. It doesn’t have a light which comes in handy but isn’t a deal killer, but the cord is too short and we had to add a six foot extension cord. Also the cord hooks are fixed unlike the Hoover where the top hook swiveled to allow the cord to drop, so on this you have to unwind the whole thing which is annoying. That would have been a cheap feature to include. The overall feel is rather cheap and plasticky which I guess to to be expected for the price. Although it’s not very heavy it has more resistance when pushing, whereas the Hoover felt like it was being pulled. It does the job so I’m not complaining and hopefully it will hold up. Good for a low cost option.

Easy to assemble vacuum and easy to carry upstairs. I have carpeted stairs that are really annoying to try and vacuum, this vacuum is light weight, but does its job to suck up all the cat litter and dirt the stairs catch. Have had this for almost a month and the only issue I had is, DO NOT run over the power cable with it, even by accident. The rubber on the cord will easily get caught and will tear. If it’s repairable use electrical tape.
