Introduction

The Hoover WindTunnel Cord Rewind Pro is an upright vacuum designed for homeowners who want powerful suction, simple upkeep, and a handful of tools to tackle above-floor cleaning. It blends Hoover’s WindTunnel suction architecture with Multi-Cyclonic filtration and an automatic cord rewind to simplify day-to-day vacuuming.

If you live in a house with mixed flooring (carpets plus hard floors), pets that shed, or stairs and upholstery to maintain, this model aims to be a straightforward, all-purpose option. Quick verdict: The Hoover WindTunnel Cord Rewind Pro delivers reliable suction and practical conveniences that suit busy households, although some detailed specs (weight, filters, exact accessory list) aren’t fully listed in the product information.

What’s in the Box

  • Upright vacuum (model: WindTunnel Cord Rewind Pro) — included (source: listing).
  • Built-in 10‑ft. extension wand — included (source: listing).
  • Specialty cleaning tools for upholstery, stairs, corners — included (source: listing: “Versatile Tools”).
  • 25‑ft. power cord with automatic rewind — included (source: listing).
  • User manual — Not specified (commonly included, but not listed).
  • Additional accessories (specific brush types, extra filters) — Not specified.

Note: The listing confirms a built-in extension wand and specialty tools, and the 25‑ft. cord. Exact accessory types and a full accessory count are not fully detailed in the provided information.

Design & Build

The listing does not give precise material or weight figures, so some specifics are Not specified. What is clear from the product description is the vacuum’s focus on practical, no-fuss design elements: an upright form factor with an integrated extension wand, on-board tool storage (implied by the included tools), and a one-button cord rewind system.

Implications for use and ergonomics

  • Upright format: Easier to push across larger floor areas; typically better for deep carpet cleaning than handhelds. Expect a straightforward stand-and-push workflow rather than switching between multiple components.
  • Built-in extension wand: Keeps tools handy and reduces bending or fetching loose attachments — convenient for stairs, curtains, and upholstery.
  • Automatic cord rewind: Removes the tedium of manual cord wrapping and helps keep storage neater.
  • 5-level height adjustment: Lets you optimize the brush height for different floor types, improving cleaning efficiency across low-pile carpet, high-pile carpet, and hard floors.

Because detailed specs such as overall weight, total dimensions, and exact housing materials are not provided in the listing, buyers who need a lightweight or ultra-compact model should check the retailer’s technical spec sheet or weigh the product in person where possible.

Key Features

WindTunnel technology (advanced suction)

Benefit: WindTunnel is Hoover’s long-standing design approach to generate strong, steady suction across the cleaning path. On this model, the marketing line points to “advanced suction technology” that captures surface debris and ground‑in dirt.

Where it helps in real life: On high-traffic areas and family rooms where crumbs, pet hair, and tracked-in dirt accumulate, consistent suction prevents re-deposition of debris and reduces the need for multiple passes. If you have mixed surfaces—area rugs bordered by hard floor—reliable suction helps pick up material without losing power moving between textures.

Multi-Cyclonic filtration

Benefit: Multi-Cyclonic filtration separates dust and particles from the airflow in stages, which can reduce clogs and maintain suction longer than single-stage systems (claim from the listing: “no loss of suction”).

Where it helps in real life: Households with a steady load of fine dust, pet dander, or sandy debris will notice fewer performance dips between emptying. If allergy control is a key concern, multi-stage filtration helps keep dust in the bin rather than reintroducing it into the air — though the listing does not specify whether a HEPA filter or allergen-certified filter is included.

Built-in 10‑ft. extension wand and specialty tools

Benefit: The built-in wand extends reach without the hassle of shuffling loose attachments; included specialty tools let you clean upholstery, stairs, corners, and other tight spots more effectively.

Where it helps in real life: Use the wand to reach ceiling fans, curtain tops, and high corners. The upholstery and stair tools are useful for removing pet hair and crumbs from couches and steps without hauling a separate handheld unit. Because the wand is integrated, you avoid misplacing accessories and keep cleaning faster.

25‑ft. power cord with automatic rewind

Benefit: A 25‑ft. cord gives you a good cleaning radius from a single outlet, and the automatic cord rewind retracts the cord into the machine at the touch of a button for quick, tidy storage.

Where it helps in real life: For larger rooms, hallways, or multiroom cleaning, a long cord reduces outlet swapping. The automatic cord rewind cuts the final step out of cleanup — especially handy when you’re juggling chores or have little time between tasks. (Keyword note: automatic cord rewind.)

Five-level height adjustment

Benefit: Manual or foot-operated height adjustment (the listing cites “5-level height adjustment”) helps match the brushroll and suction profile to the floor type.

Where it helps in real life: Switching from bare wood to high-pile carpet is smoother when you can tune the height; lowering the head for hard floors avoids dragging, while raising it for deep pile prevents the machine from bogging down.

Trusted brand and legacy

Benefit: Hoover emphasizes a long company history and focus on user-friendly durability (“For more than 100 years…” — source: listing).

Where it helps in real life: Brand longevity often correlates with parts availability and service knowledge. If you value a widely supported brand for replacement parts or customer support, Hoover’s reputation is a practical consideration.

Where to buy

Performance & Use

Setup and first-time use

  • Unbox and confirm all visible parts (main unit, wand, tools, cord) are present. The listing indicates a built-in wand and included tools but does not list a full accessory inventory; if any items are missing, contact the seller.
  • Attach the wand and tools to their on-board storage locations (if the design has clips) or to the hose/wand connection per the manual.
  • Adjust the height setting to match the surface you’ll vacuum first: lower for hard floors, up a notch or two for area rugs, and higher settings for thick carpets.

Practical cleaning tips

  • Work in overlapping passes: slightly overlap each pass to make sure the WindTunnel suction picks up all debris.
  • Use the extension wand for vertical surfaces (drapes, shelves) and the upholstery tool for sofas and mattresses.
  • For stairs, use the short wand or hand tools rather than dragging the whole upright, unless the model includes a detachable handle or hose (Not specified).

Maintenance and care

  • Empty the dust cup or replace bags as soon as the cup/bag reaches the recommended fill line (the listing mentions Multi‑Cyclonic filtration but does not list dustbin capacity or bag type).
  • Inspect the brushroll for tangled hair and fibers regularly; remove obstructions to maintain suction and protect the motor.
  • Check filters periodically: rinse or replace according to the user manual. The listing does not specify filter type (pre-motor, post-motor, HEPA), so consult the manual or manufacturer website for exact care instructions.
  • Keep the power cord and rewind mechanism free of lint and wrap the cord properly when it’s rewound to avoid jams.

Real-world expectations

  • You should expect solid everyday cleaning for homes with mixed flooring and moderate pet hair. The listing’s claims emphasize consistent suction and versatile tools, which translate to fewer multiple-pass sessions and easier above-floor work.
  • If you need ultra-quiet operation, ultra-light portability, or specific allergen-rated filtration (HEPA), verify those details with the retailer because the listing does not supply those exact specifications.

Pros vs Cons

Pros Cons
Strong, consistent suction via WindTunnel design (listing claim). Specifics like weight and dimensions are Not listed, making portability unclear.
Multi‑Cyclonic filtration to reduce loss of suction during use (listing claim). Exact filter type (HEPA or allergen-certified) is Not specified.
Built-in 10‑ft. extension wand and included specialty tools make above-floor cleaning easier (listing claim). Full accessory list and counts are Not specified in the listing.
25‑ft. power cord with one-touch automatic cord rewind for easy storage (listing claim). Noise level and vibration data are Not listed.
5-level height adjustment for different floor types (listing claim). Dust bin capacity or bag type is Not specified.
From Hoover, a long-established brand with a history of household vacuums (listing: “more than 100 years”). No full spec sheet provided in the listing excerpt; you may need to confirm details before buying.

Who Should Buy

  • Households with mixed flooring (hard floors + carpets) that need a single machine to tackle both.
  • Families with pets who require reliable suction and easy-to-use tools for upholstery and stairs.
  • Buyers who value quick cleanup and storage features like an automatic cord rewind.
  • People who prefer a mainstream brand with broad service and parts availability.

Who Shouldn’t Buy

  • Shoppers requiring detailed technical specifications up front (weight, exact dimensions, filter certifications, dustbin capacity) — these are Not listed and should be confirmed before purchase.
  • Those who need a vacuum with certified HEPA filtration for severe allergies (the listing does not state HEPA).
  • Users who need the lightest possible model for frequent stair-carrying — the weight is Not listed in the product information.
  • Buyers wanting a cordless or handheld-first system; this is a corded upright with a long cord.

I bought this Hoover WindTunnel to replace my 13-year-old WindTunnel that still worked but had a frayed cord. Highlights: (1) The suction is incredible — I vacuumed two days before the new one arrived and was amazed at how much dirt it picked up. A+++ for suction. (2) It is very loud with a high-pitched squeal; I usually wear headphones when I clean so it’s not a dealbreaker for me. (3) The tools are great — they stay mounted securely and are easy to remove and attach. (4) The cord rewind works well. I’m careful not to “stomp” the rewind lever and I hold the cord end to avoid it whipping against the machine (that’s how my old cord got frayed). (5) The filter/dirt container design is frustrating compared to my old machine. On the previous model you could just remove the container, pop the top, and rinse the filter. This new top was extremely difficult to turn when the red bar indicated it needed cleaning — I had to have my husband struggle with it before it came off. After rinsing the very dirty filter and letting it dry 24 hours, reinstalling the top also took longer and more effort than it should have. I’m hoping it gets easier with time, but that design change is why I docked one star. Otherwise I’m pleased with the power and the lightweight design, and the cord length is at least as long as my old one.

Arrived well packed and undamaged. It works great — I live in the Philippines and my house is set up with converters and solar devices for outdoor lighting, and it powers my cellphone and other devices from a solar generator without issues. Local online sellers often send fake or low-quality equipment, so I chose to order from Amazon even though I had to pay import taxes.

Fantastic vacuum — I love the automatic cord rewind and won’t buy one without it. This is my third identical unit and they’ve all held up. With pets I vacuum nearly every day and keep one on each floor; these grab dog and other pet hair effortlessly and clean well on any surface when the height is set correctly. The bagless design saves time and money, and the canister is very easy to remove and empty. Great buy at a great price.

This vacuum isn’t worth the price. It clogs constantly and the debris rarely reaches the dust cup, so I end up repeatedly pulling out and partially clearing the hose just to keep vacuuming for another minute or two. The hose is too long to fully clean, so blockages return, and while it’s powerful, having to clear the hose multiple times per use makes it impractical. I regret spending this much on it.

The older model has better suction. The belt on this one broke after about a dozen uses. I researched it online and found belt failure is a common defect, though you can buy two replacement belts for $16. I bought it for downstairs and moved the older vacuum upstairs, but I ended up putting this new one upstairs (where I vacuum less) and putting my trusty 10-year-old model back downstairs. They should have stuck with the older design instead of “improving” it.

I replaced the same model I’d had for 10–15 years, and this one is quieter, has stronger suction, and performs much better. Far superior to my previous favorite — I highly recommend it.

This is not worth it. It’s too expensive and it constantly clogs. The dust and whatever I’m trying to vacuum, never makes it to the plastic to be emptied. Instead, I have to manually pick out the hose to the best of my ability in order just to vacuum for another 60 seconds before I have to do the same thing. When I do clean it out, I can’t get everything out of the hose because it’s too long. It’s a powerful vacuum but unless you want to be cleaning out the hose four times per use in a row then I would not get this vacuum. I paid all of this money for absolutely nothing and it’s pretty much garbage!

We had the older version of this vac for over 10 years and it was getting tired. Time to replace. After reading the reviews was disturbed and puzzled by some of them pointing out small odd differences that they made to sound negative and so I was initially put off this vac. After reading/comparing I decided to disregard these slightly negative reviews and sally forth having trusted Hoover for so many years and getting excellent service from our older similar unit. So glad I did. This vac is superb value for money. Very much the same as older model but a bit refreshed. Yes, power button and rinse-able disc is lower in the handle. A slight re-design for whatever reason. All around shape of vac is the same. Color scheme is different from old model. This new vac has super suction. Our cat migrates bits of litter around the house and I can see these bits shake as the vac approaches with the power of the suction. Brush must be adjusted a notch higher probably due to being new and not worn down at all. This brings me to the ‘hard to push around’ mentioned in a couple of reviews. It is the same as old vac. Same weight which is not overly light, a bit heavy but is the same. If the brush is adjusted low and you try to push over a carpet, you will encounter resistance due to the brush really scrubbing the carpet. In this case it will be rather hard to push. Our floors are a mix of bare, low area rugs and low/medium carpets with a couple of very small thin pads near the entrance. Old vac I mostly had brush set on next to lowest. This new vac brush set one notch higher (middle notch). At this setting I can hear the brush lightly touch the bare floor and have plenty of scrub for all carpets/rugs and difficulty of pushing is same as old, as would be expected. The suction is so powerful, this vac will actually pick up the small pads at the entrance door. I have to stand on them while vacuuming carefully or they will be sucked right up and stick on the vac bottom. I’m so extremely pleased with the value and performance of this vac and so happy we got it. Really no idea why anyone would buy another unless perhaps needing a propelled model due to one’s own physical limitations. The one major difference from old model is the power cord seems to be about 3-4 inches shorter! Otherwise everything works awesome. Auto-wind cord snaps up super quick. I highly recommend this vac.

I had a 12amp Wind Tunnel that I’d had for about two years that, despite the screws breaking off when I tried replacing the belt in AGAIN, I loved how well it worked.
I bought this one, based upon the 12amp answer that someone gave about it. When it was delivered I discovered that it is actually a 10amp. I decided, though, to at least give it a try, before returning it.

When I vacuumed my carpet (which my entire apartment is) it vacuumed up so much stuff I thought it was tearing up my carpet. As it turned out, it was actually vacuuming up what my previous vacuum cleaner had started leaving behind.
Since I’ve owned this one, my carpet has never felt and looked so clean. It works as good my old steel vacuum cleaner (I paid hundreds for), and it isn’t as bulky and heavy.
It has more bristles than my last Hoover, and more suction power, so it gets everything in one pass. And it has no problem vacuuming up pet hair. I have Belgian Malinois who sheds constantly (despite regularly brushing), so I vacuum almost daily. It gets every bit of her hair easily.
The hose is super flexible and easy to work with cleaning ceiling fans, vents, and blinds. No more having to dust those first. I can do them all all at once.
It works amazingly well on regular floors, without kicking back and throwing stuff out the back end.

All in all…it is the best and most awesome vacuum cleaner I’ve ever owned. The price is a huge bonus.
    I highly recommend it!!!

    On a side note…
    1) The canister really should be emptied after each vacuuming. I, personally, also always brush mine with a bottle brush to keep it from clogging, and so I don’t have to wash it as often. The hose, canister, and filter should be washed regularly. Otherwise that’s what causes that nasty vacuum cleaner smell…you don’t want your home smelling like when you vacuum.
I also fully extend the hose and replace it, before emptying the canister, to get out anything that might be caught between the grooves of the hose.
    2) To keep the Cord Rewind working properly, the cord shouldn’t be pulled out much further past the yellow warning, and especially not past the red warnings that it has. And, the cord should be untwisted before, or as you’re rewinding it, so it rewinds as it should.

    HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

I bought this Hoover UH71350 two years ago. It lasted about a year longer than the previous two Hoovers I owned, and it will be the last Hoover I buy. If this were an engineering-student project, it would get a D+ for poor design.

    Major design problems:

    1. The power switch is placed in the middle of the upright handle, so you can’t turn it on or off with your foot. You have to bend over and use a free hand.
    2. When you attach upholstery tools to the hose, the inlet duct blows dust back into the room (and into your lungs).
    3. The dirt cup empties from the bottom, but dust and hair snag on the filter at the top of the cup, so you have to reach up with your fingers or a tool to clear it. The “bagless” feature ends up being more of a hassle than a convenience.
    4. Both the power cord (25 ft) and the hose (4 ft) are too short. You can plug the cord into new outlets as you move, but a 4-foot hose attached to an 18-pound machine won’t reach cobwebs near the ceiling — you’ll need a broom.
    5. The cord rewind is pointless. Pulling the cord out hand-over-hand isn’t any less work, and after a few uses the rewind stops working. I now hand-coil the cord and drape it over the handle.
    6. The worst part: I have never been able to separate the dirt cup from its lid to properly clean the filters (see photo).

Performance-wise the suction has always been good and it cleans carpet well — as any vacuum should. But that doesn’t make up for the poor design. After two years I’m buying another vacuum because I can’t clean or change the filthy filters. What a waste.
