Introduction

This is a powerful, intelligent cordless vacuum designed for business and heavy-duty home use that promises long run times, automatic power adjustment, and a set of targeted tools for hair and debris pickup. It combines a high‑torque cleaner head, a screw‑style hair tool, and an LCD that reports particle pickup in real time.

If you need a cordless machine that adapts to different floor types, tracks how much it’s collected, and handles long hair without constant snags, this model is aimed at that kind of user. Quick verdict: a capable, feature‑rich Dyson cordless vacuum that prioritizes performance and usability for demanding cleaning tasks.

What’s in the Box

  • Main cordless vacuum unit (motor + bin) — inferred
  • Digital Motorbar cleaner head — specified in listing
  • Hair screw tool (anti‑tangle conical brush bar) — specified in listing
  • 9 Dyson‑engineered accessories for cleaning high and low — specified in listing (individual tools not enumerated)

  • User manual and warranty registration instructions — inferred; 2‑year warranty noted in listing

If you need an exact accessories breakdown (each attachment name and purpose), the listing does not provide the full list of included items.

Design & Build

This machine is built from materials chosen for a balance of strength and lightness, intended to withstand regular use while remaining maneuverable. The body follows the familiar wand-and-stick layout of modern cordless vacuums, allowing conversion to a handheld configuration for small tasks. The Digital Motorbar head is engineered to work across floor types, while the Hair screw tool is a purpose-built attachment to prevent tangles from long hair.

Ergonomics: the stick form factor reduces bending for general floor cleaning and the convertibility to handheld helps with stairs, upholstery, and car interiors. The “power trigger” control—designed to limit power use to when you need it—helps reduce fatigue compared with vacuums that require a constant‑on push button. Exact weight and dimensions are not listed, so if absolute portability (for example, for multistory homes with tight stairs) is a deciding factor, the listing does not specify those numbers.

Durability & support: the manufacturer cites a 2‑year warranty and lifetime support via registration in the MyDyson app, suggesting service parts and guidance are available over the product’s life.

Key Features

Intelligent power adaptation and power trigger

Benefit: The vacuum automatically increases or reduces suction based on the amount of debris detected and the floor type, which optimizes cleaning effectiveness and conserves battery. The power trigger only draws maximum power when you request it, so you’re not burning battery unnecessarily during lighter passes.

Where it helps: In mixed homes or business spaces with rugs, bare floors, and spills, the motor adjusts to ensure stubborn dirt gets more suction while low‑dirt areas use less energy—helpful when you want consistent cleaning without manual mode switching (source: listing, checked 2025).

Long run time (up to 120 minutes)

Benefit: Extended run time lets you tackle larger spaces or multiple rooms on a single charge, reducing the need to recharge mid‑clean.

Where it helps: If you manage large apartments, a small office, or need to clean several rooms in one session, the extended runtime reduces interruptions. The listing states up to 120 minutes of run time (source: listing, checked 2025). Note that actual time will vary with power mode, attachments in use, and the condition of the filters and battery.

LCD screen with particle counter and detailed readout

Benefit: An LCD displays the amount of particles picked up as you clean, plus real‑time information on power mode, maintenance alerts, and remaining run time down to the second. That visibility helps you see cleaning progress and anticipate maintenance.

Where it helps: For busy households or commercial spaces where you want proof of cleaning or to confirm high‑traffic areas have been effectively cleaned, the on‑machine readout provides immediate feedback. It’s also useful to see when filters should be cleaned or when battery top‑up is needed (source: listing, checked 2025).

Digital Motorbar cleaner head

Benefit: The Digital Motorbar head is built to deep‑clean across floor types, agitating carpets and sweeping hard floors effectively. The design aims to pick up fine dust and larger debris in a single pass.

Where it helps: If your home or workspace has a mix of rugs and hard flooring, the cleaner head reduces the need to switch tools and helps speed up whole‑floor cleaning.

Hair screw tool with anti‑tangle conical brush bar

Benefit: The Hair screw tool’s conical brush design actively channels and pulls long hair into the bin while preventing hair wrap that typically requires cutting or manual removal.

Where it helps: Homes with pets or residents with long hair will see less downtime from detangling the brush bar. It’s especially practical for grooming areas, bathrooms, and bedrooms where hair buildup is common.

Converts to a handheld with nine accessories

Benefit: Swapping to handheld mode opens up cleaning for stairs, car interiors, upholstery, and tight corners. The bundle includes nine Dyson‑engineered accessories to extend the machine’s versatility.

Where it helps: The included tools mean the vacuum is ready to tackle high surfaces, crevices, and delicate areas without buying additional parts. Exact accessory names and purposes are not listed in the product details, so check the retailer listing if you need a full accessory inventory.

Advanced whole‑machine filtration

Benefit: The machine uses an advanced filtration system that, according to the listing, traps 99.99% of particles down to 0.3 microns and expels cleaner air—useful for allergy considerations and indoor air quality.

Where it helps: If dust, pollen, fine pet dander, or other small particles are a concern—especially in homes with allergy sufferers—the high‑efficiency filtration helps reduce re‑emission of fine particles during vacuuming (source: listing, checked 2025).

Where to buy

Performance & Use

Setup: The vacuum is straightforward to set up—attach the cleaner head, insert the battery (if removable), and mount any tool you need. Because the charger/dock details are not specified in the listing, confirm whether a wall dock or freestanding charger is included if that matters for your storage setup.

Everyday use: Start in a lower power mode for general dust and hard floors; the intelligent power adaptation will boost suction where debris concentration increases. Use the Digital Motorbar for mixed floors and the Hair screw tool for areas with hair accumulation. Convert to handheld for stairs and upholstery.

Maintenance tips:

  • Empty the bin frequently to avoid loss of suction; the particle counter on the LCD helps you see when output drops.
  • Clean pre‑filters according to the manufacturer’s guidance in the MyDyson app—maintenance alerts are shown on the LCD.
  • Rinse washable filters only if the manual indicates they are washable; allow full drying before reinserting. The listing notes maintenance alerts on the LCD but does not include specific filter care instructions—consult the manual or MyDyson app for exact steps.
  • If you rely on the maximum run‑time claim, remember that actual runtime will vary depending on power mode and attachments in use (source: listing, checked 2025).

Practical tips for businesses:

  • Use scheduled mid‑week cleans on high‑traffic zones like lobbies and break rooms to keep dirt levels lower between deep cleans.
  • When cleaning multiple rooms, start in the furthest room and progress toward the exit to avoid retracing steps.

Pros vs Cons

Pros Cons
Intelligent power adaptation conserves battery and increases suction where needed (source: listing, checked 2025). Exact weight and dimensions are not listed—may be important for stair or third‑floor use.
Up to 120 minutes run time stated in listing, making it suitable for larger spaces (source: listing, checked 2025). Real‑world runtime will vary by mode and attachments; peak claims may not reflect heavy use.
LCD shows particle pickup, remaining run time to the second, and maintenance alerts—helpful for monitoring clean quality (source: listing, checked 2025). The list of nine accessories is specified but not itemized in the listing—buyers may not know the exact tools included.
Hair screw tool reduces hair tangles, saving time on brush maintenance. Charger/dock specifics are Not specified in the listing—confirm what comes in the box for wall mounting/storage.
Advanced whole‑machine filtration captures 99.99% of particles down to 0.3 microns (source: listing, checked 2025). “100% more power” claim is relative and not benchmarked to a particular prior model in the listing (source: listing, checked 2025).

Who Should Buy

  • You should consider this Dyson cordless vacuum if you need a high‑performance, rechargeable cleaner for large homes, small offices, or multi‑room cleaning sessions where long runtime and adaptive power are meaningful advantages.
  • It’s a good match for households with long hair or pets—especially where hair tangles are a recurring headache—because of the Hair screw tool.
  • If indoor air quality matters (allergies or fine dust), the advanced filtration and particle monitoring are real benefits.

Who Shouldn’t Buy

  • If you require exact product dimensions or weight before purchase (for tight staircases or restricted storage), this listing does not provide those specs.
  • Buyers who need a fully itemized accessory list before buying may want to confirm the included attachments with the seller; the listing states nine accessories but does not name them all.
  • If you’re looking for the absolute lightest possible stick for very frequent stair‑only cleaning, verify the unspecified weight before committing.

Specs

This vacuum is amazing! I have the V15 detect pro. The suction is so strong that I use it on the middle setting for my area rugs. They are old family oriental rugs and thinner than new area rugs. So I just use it on the medium setting otherwise they just pull the area rugs up from the floor. When my grandchildren come over they want to vacuum! That is worth the price of the vacuum! I have an older V8 and I have them use that. I bought the newer V15 to see if it had even more suction. I tried it and WOW! I have a Taiwaneese rug that is very thick with a ton of knots per square inch. It works wonder on the rug! The only thing that will ruin that rug is if dust and diet get farther down into the rug. I vacuumed it with the V8 and then with the V15. Lots more dust and dirt came out with the V15. What a machine! I recommend it.

This vacuum cleans carpet, tile, and vinyl very well — it’s relatively quiet, cordless, and cut my sweeping time by about a third. It outperforms my old equipment, is pretty easy to clean, and it actually fluffs carpets instead of flattening them like the previous vacuum did. It replaced a corded Miele upright and a central vacuum in the house and gets a better job done in less time with less effort. At first I was impressed and had no regrets about the purchase.

Downsides: the trigger-style grip is uncomfortable — a simple on/off switch would be much better. The battery takes about 4.5 hours to recharge, you need somewhere to hang the unit, and there’s no second charging dock even though a second battery was included. The build uses a lot of plastic, so long-term durability is questionable. The downloadable documentation is adequate but very minimalist.

EDIT: I’ve had parts issues and it seems Dyson parts are often on backorder. That makes it hard to recommend a product the manufacturer can’t reliably support.

2nd EDIT: The wand fit has become loose and is getting worse. With the standard sweeper attachment it won’t pick up debris on tile anymore — I have to use the quick-cleanup attachment instead. It feels like it’s falling apart, which is both surprising and unacceptable at this price. While there’s still a lot to like, if it won’t last even six months with weekly use, it’s too expensive. I can no longer recommend this product.

I’m thrilled with my new Dyson — lightweight yet unbelievably powerful. I have dogs and constantly fight pet hair, and this vacuum is the best I’ve ever used for picking it up. It is pricey, but you really do get what you pay for. I had a Dyson for 10 years and didn’t want to downgrade, so after researching and reading reviews I finally ordered this one. Highly recommend.

This vacuum is amazing! I bought the Dyson V15 Detect Pro and its suction is so strong I use the medium setting on my older, thin family oriental rugs — otherwise it actually pulls them up. My grandchildren love to help vacuum, which alone makes it worth the price; I let them use our older V8. I got the V15 to see if it had more suction, and wow — on a very thick Taiwanese rug with tons of knots per square inch it works wonders. After vacuuming first with the V8 and then the V15, the V15 pulled out a lot more dust and dirt that had been trapped deep in the pile. What a machine — I highly recommend it.

I already had a powerful corded vacuum, but it needs an extension cord to reach around the house and isn’t very maneuverable. I also owned a cheap cordless with good reviews that handled surface debris okay but lacked power, especially the carpet brush, which would slow down. The V15, though, pulled so much dirt out of the carpets that I had to empty it several times while vacuuming the entire house — including under the couch, bed, and tables in spots my big corded vacuum can’t reach. It’s very nimble and the bin empties easily (I dumped it outside on the grass — country living perks — but otherwise I’d rig a cardboard cover over a trash can with a hole to avoid a dust cloud). I only needed the second battery halfway through cleaning. With a mix of carpet and ceramic tile, the Auto Suck feature smoothly adjusts between surfaces so it doesn’t bog down on carpet or waste power on smooth floors, and you can switch to manual settings if you prefer. I bought a 6′ third-party flexible hose to reach tricky spots and used the short motorized head on car seats and small carpets with good results. It’s expensive and I delayed buying it, but I’m glad I did. Note: the V15 Pro doesn’t have the front laser like the cheaper V15 version, so it has no light — there are just too many models and features to keep track of.

quite some suction compared to the v8 I have. Also it came with 2 batteries which is a plus. It has an adaptive suction based on the surface you’re working on, extra nice feature.

    Do it.
This thing SUCKS in the best way possible!! It’ll suck the demons out of your upholstery.
But seriously, I was between this and the V12 because of the weight (I had a V7 previously) and I’m so glad I went with this. I’m a 130lbs woman with fairly weak wrists but I had no issue doing a 30+ minute session. There is no fluffy optics head but Im not ever worried because this one did hardwood & carpets beautifuly !! And you don’t have to mess with changing any heads.
The amount of dust and particles it sucked out of my already clean LOOKING living space is insane (looks can be deceiving!).

Do it. This thing SUCKS — in the best way possible! It’ll practically pull the demons out of your upholstery. I was deciding between this and the V12 because of weight (I had a V7 before) and I’m so glad I chose this. I’m a 130 lb woman with fairly weak wrists, yet a 30+ minute cleaning session was no problem. It doesn’t have the fluffy optic head, but I never worry because it handles hardwood and carpets beautifully — and you don’t have to mess with swapping heads. The amount of dust and particles it pulled from my supposedly clean living space was insane (looks can be deceiving!).

LIKES: it sweeps carpet, tile and vinyl flooring well; it’s not too noisy; there’s no cord or hose to deal with; it reduced sweep time by 1/3; it sweeps better than the old gear; it’s pretty easy to clean the unit; it fluffs up carpet whereas old gear mashed it down.

DISLIKES: uncomfortable trigger grip for operation — on/off switch would be a lot better; 4.5 hour battery recharge time; have to find someplace to hang it; no second charging dock included though a second battery was.

The unit uses lots of plastic and it’s unknown how it will hold up. Downloadable documentation is sufficient if a bit minimalist.

This unit replaced a corded Miele upright and a central vac for the house and does a better job in less time with less effort. Overall, I am impressed. This is a good product and have no regrets about the purchase.

    EDIT
I have some parts issues and it looks like Dyson parts are always on backorder? Hard to recommend a product that the manufacturer apparently can’t support.

    2nd EDIT
Wand fit is now kind of loose and getting worse. It won’t pick up debris on a tile floor with the standard sweeper attachment. Now it’s necessary to attach the quick-cleanup attachment instead. It seems to be self destructing, and for a product at this price level, that’s both surprising and unacceptable.

While there’s quite a bit to like here, it’s darned pricey if it won’t last even 6 months of use one time per week.

I can no longer recommend this product.

I like this vacuum a lot. It was an investment but I have not had any issues with it and it has been very easy to maintain. I was surprised when I didnt get the Lazer, but that comes on a different attachment so keep that in mind.

The only negative is that sometimes stuff will get stuck inside of the chamber that holds the dirt so you have to empty it and try and reach in to get the stuff out. I have short fingers so its kind of a pain.

Yes I have a good corded vacuum that really sucks, but I have to use an extension cord to get around the house and it isn’t very nimble. I also have a cheap cordless that had pretty good reviews, and that is okay for surface debris but it isn’t very strong, especially the carpet brush, which slows down.
But this V15 pulled so much dirt out of the carpet I had to empty it quite a few times while I vacuumed the Entire House, including under the couch, bed, tables, places the big corded vacuum won’t go…it is very nimble. Fortunately it empties easily, I just emptied it outside on the grass (well country living has benefits). Otherwise I think I would cut a piece of cardboard to put over a waste basket, cut a hole in it, and empty it that way to avoid dust.

I had to use the second battery only half way through this process. I have a mix of carpet and ceramic tile floors, and the Auto Suck feature adjusts between them, not bogging down on the carpet or wasting too much energy on the smooth floor. It is manually adjustable if you don’t like Auto Suck.

I bought a 3rd party flexible hose (6′) to clean difficult places easier. I used the short power bar thing on the car seats and carpet which worked well.

Pricey unit, and I put it off a long time, but I rather like it.
Note: The V15 Pro model Doesn’t have the laser in front like the V15 cheaper one, so no light at all… Too many models and features to keep track of.
