Design & Build
The listing does not specify the exact housing material, overall dimensions, or weight of the ILIFE A12 Pro. What is clear from the product information is that the package includes both a robot unit and a self-empty station, plus replaceable 2.5L dust bags for that station (source: listing, checked 2025).
Because the vacuum ships with a self-empty base and multiple dust bags, the design prioritizes a compact but stable docking solution and a robot that operates reliably with that base. The robot’s onboard dustbin is listed as 200 ml, and the integrated 200 ml water tank sits alongside it for combined vacuum-and-mop operation — a configuration that favors convenience (less swapping) but means the robot relies on the larger external dust bags for truly hands-free maintenance.
Ergonomics and user interactions are centered around remote/app control and voice control. There’s no mention of a heavy or fragile construction; for care and longevity, keep the base and dust-bag bay dry and replace bags per the manufacturer’s guidance (see Performance & Use).
Key Features
Precision LiDAR Navigation (LDS laser + SLAM)
Benefit: The A12 Pro uses LDS-based mapping and the SLAM algorithm to build accurate floor plans and plan efficient cleaning routes. That means fewer missed spots and fewer repeated passes in the same area, which can save time and battery.
Where it helps: In multi-room apartments or homes with corridors and tight corners, precise mapping reduces random navigation and makes scheduled or room-targeted cleans more reliable. The mapping features also allow you to set no-go zones and virtual walls through the ILIFEClean app for a customized cleaning footprint.
(Note: the listing specifies “LDS laser technology and the Slam algorithm.”)
Up to 40 Weeks of Hands-Free Cleaning (Self-empty system)
Benefit: The included self-empty station uses replaceable 2.5L dust bags and five are supplied in the box — the listing states each bag can handle up to 8 weeks of typical dust/debris, giving as much as 40 weeks of reduced manual maintenance if you change bags on that schedule (source: listing, checked 2025).
Where it helps: If you dislike emptying a robot every few cleans or if your household generates a lot of lint and pet hair, the self-emptying station keeps the bin out of sight and reduces the frequency of manual intervention. It’s especially handy for pet owners who don’t want daily hair removal.
Smart ILIFEClean App Control
Benefit: The ILIFEClean app lets you configure no-go zones and no-mop zones, set virtual walls, schedule routines, select specific rooms or areas to clean, and adjust suction and water levels — all from your phone.
Where it helps: You can prepare the robot to avoid fragile areas (kid’s play zones, pet bowls), prioritize high-traffic rooms at certain times, or reduce water output on hardwood while increasing suction on carpet. Note: Wi‑Fi support is limited to 2.4 GHz networks (source: listing, checked 2025).
Sweep, Vacuum and Mop 3-in-1 (Integrated water/dust solution)
Benefit: The A12 Pro’s 2-in-1 integrated container combines a 200 ml dustbin and a 200 ml water tank so that vacuuming and mopping can happen simultaneously without swapping modules — the manufacturer notes this reduces cleaning time by about 30% (source: listing, checked 2025).
Where it helps: For everyday maintenance on sealed floors—tile, vinyl, laminate—this saves steps and reduces the need to manually mop after vacuuming. The trade-off is smaller on-board capacities, which is why the self-empty station becomes important for extended hands-off use.
Convenient Voice and Remote Control
Benefit: In addition to app control, the A12 Pro supports Alexa and Google Assistant for simple voice commands and includes a physical remote for basic operations without opening the app.
Where it helps: If you prefer voice control to phone taps—“start cleaning,” “return to dock”—this works well. The remote is useful for guests or elderly users who don’t have the app installed.
Powerful 3000Pa Suction with Multiple Modes
Benefit: The A12 Pro offers a peak suction of 3000Pa and four selectable suction modes: Quiet (500Pa), Standard (1000Pa), Strong (1500Pa), and Max (3000Pa).
Where it helps: Strong suction modes lift embedded dirt and pet hair from hard floors and low- to medium-pile carpets. Quiet mode is useful for overnight or background cleans when you want minimal noise. Choosing suction level based on surface saves energy and reduces wear.
Performance & Use
Setup tips
- Place the self-empty station on a flat surface against a wall with a few inches of clearance each side and at least a meter in front so the robot can dock reliably.
- Connect the station to power first, then bind the robot to your 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi via the ILIFEClean app. The app walks through mapping and initial runs.
- Run an initial mapping clean with doors to rooms closed so the robot creates an accurate layout. Use the app to label rooms and set no-go/no-mop zones.
Daily/weekly use
- With the 2.5L dust bags supplied, you can follow the manufacturer’s guidance for up to 8 weeks per bag under typical conditions (source: listing, checked 2025). Heavy-shedding pets or construction dust will shorten that interval.
- Empty the small onboard 200 ml dustbin if you plan to do manual spot cleans without returning to the base; otherwise the self-empty function clears it automatically after each job.
- Rinse and air-dry the mop cloth after mopping sessions; replace or deep-clean periodically to avoid streaking.
Maintenance
- Replace dust bags when the app or the base indicates “full,” or on your planned schedule (every 6–8 weeks under normal use, per the listing).
- Clean the side brushes and main brush from hair wrap every few weeks, depending on load.
- Check the sensors (cliff and wall) for dust buildup and wipe them gently to maintain navigation accuracy.
- For long-term storage of spares, keep extra dust bags dry and in the original packaging.
Practical limitations and tips
- The onboard water tank and dustbin are small (both 200 ml), so the robot is optimized to perform routine maintenance while relying on the external dust bags for major dirt holding. For long mopping sessions across large homes, expect to refill the water tank.
- If you use a dual-band router, ensure the ILIFEClean app uses the 2.4 GHz SSID during setup; the robot does not support 5 GHz networks (source: listing, checked 2025).
Pros vs Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Accurate LiDAR-based mapping with SLAM for efficient route planning (source: listing, checked 2025) | Onboard dustbin and water tank are only 200 ml each — limits standalone runtime without base support |
| Self-empty station with five 2.5L dust bags included for up to 40 weeks of low-touch maintenance (source: listing, checked 2025) | Relies on 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi only; no 5 GHz support listed |
| Strong maximum suction (3000Pa) with four suction modes for surface-specific cleaning (source: listing, checked 2025) | Manufacturer does not list battery capacity or run-time in the listing (Not listed) |
| Simultaneous vacuum-and-mop workflow (no need to swap modules) saves time for mixed floors (source: listing, checked 2025) | Mop and water capacity are modest—may require refilling on larger jobs |
| App control plus Alexa/Google Assistant and a physical remote give flexible control options | Listing lacks detailed material, size, and weight specifications (Not listed) |
Who Should Buy
- Busy households that want minimal daily maintenance and the convenience of a self-emptying system.
- Pet owners who need stronger suction (up to 3000Pa) and frequent automatic hair removal through a dust-bag-based base.
- People who want accurate room mapping and the ability to create no-go/no-mop zones for selective cleaning.
- Users who prefer app-driven smart features and voice assistant integration.
Who Shouldn’t Buy
- Households needing long single-run battery life on very large multi-floor homes — the listing does not provide battery/runtime figures, and the small onboard water/dust capacities mean dependence on the base for extended hands-off use (Not listed).
- Users who require 5 GHz Wi‑Fi support for device setup or who have very poor 2.4 GHz coverage.
- Buyers wanting large-capacity onboard tanks for extended mopping without refills; the A12 Pro’s integrated tanks are compact at 200 ml each.

I’m really impressed on the mapping capability and the suction power.
I’m still doing some testing cause the battery does not last more than 50 minutes but I use it in high power. So I’ll be playing with that. Size is ok. And it is not as expensive as other brands that do less.
I really recommend this product.

Item is too noisy, doesn’t vacuum well and the mob leaks water a lot. The seller doesn’t respond to queries at all.

We bought this in 2020 after going through several other models from other manufacturers. Got this one specifically because it does not have a roller brush. Found that ones that did would get destroyed by long hair after a short time. Both previous devices were retuned within 6 months with mangled parts due to hair. (another retailer with a longer return policy) Also had an iRobot model that wouldn’t go on our area rug- called support and they suggested ‘getting another carpet’ (?!?).
This one keeps trucking.
Robot vacuums have limited capability and I’ve read some other review that complain about things that frankly are just part of this product type. Here are some of my evaluations base upon the ‘cons’ others have listed.
People’s Complaints – Honest evaluation
“It’s loud” – It’s a vacuum and it’s compact. If you want it to actually pickup dirt it has to be loud
“It gets caught in cords and stuff” – As far as I can tell they all do this. It’s automated, so you have to ensure the area is safe for it to operate. If you can’t do this, don’t get a robot vacuum.
“no roller/agitator brush” – I found models with them to have limited effectiveness and the maintenance on these was stupidly excessive if you have people with long hair in the house. I had hair actually cut through the soft plastic.
“Finishes before covering all areas” – They follow intuitive patterns. It’s best to run them often so that all areas get covered regularly. The point is you don’t have to if you run it regularly.
“Leaves stuff behind (especially on thicker carpet)” – there are some things a battery operated, automated device just can’t do. You will still need to manually vacuum thick carpet occasionally.
This model also only comes with a basic remote. I appreciate this over the apps. I can control my vacuum without creating an account and going through the manufacturer’s systems. Ridiculous for just wanting to vacuum my house.
Some other notes:
Automated/robot vacuums require maintenance on a regular basis. Dirt builds up and hair wraps around any moving part. Depending upon frequency of use you’ll need to do about 30-60 minutes every 3-9 months. Taking off brushes and pulling off wads of hair. Removing the caster and cleaning it out. Deep cleaning the suction port and dust bin. etc…
I tried the mop feature once, but it took more effort than I wanted to put into it… There’s a reason why I got a robotic vacuum. I don’t like to clean.

This is my second ILIFE product—the first was the W90 Smart Cordless Floor Cleaner, which I really liked. The A12 Pro has been a great addition to my home. It has powerful suction (up to 3000Pa) and does an amazing job picking up pet hair without getting tangled. The LiDAR navigation is super accurate, so it cleans efficiently without missing spots.
The self-emptying station is a huge plus—I don’t have to worry about emptying the dustbin for weeks. I also love the app control and voice command features with Alexa, making it super convenient to schedule cleanings. It’s surprisingly quiet, too!
Overall, I’m really happy with this purchase. It’s a reliable, smart, and efficient cleaning solution that makes life so much easier!

I have a large 130 pound dog who sheds EVERYWHERE. It was driving me crazy trying to keep up with the hair. This little guy has made my life SO much easier. I set the vacuum to the highest amount of suction, and it picked up about 98% of the hair I could see! I gave four stars because the mopping feature could be better. It’s great for in between manual cleaning!

I’ve owned several robot vacuums. I’ve always liked iLife ones because they are quiet and affordable. My only complaint was that they were “dumb” and just followed random patterns and I couldn’t block off rooms. This one solved all of those issues. It maps out the room, lets you block off no-go areas, and follows a far more efficient pattern. It has different suction levels and mopping levels too. I like it a lot!

Disclaimer: This is the only robo vac I’m ever had, so some of this may be common to every brand/model. Bottom line is that I’m sending this one back. Here are my thoughts about it.
Pros:
1) The iLife V8s does do a good job of vacuuming hard surfaces. I have about 1250 sq ft of LVP, and it cleans it well.
2) It cleaned under the bed and some furniture that I hadn’t cleaned in months.
3) It finds its’ way back to the charging base – sometimes.
Cons:
1) It’s dumb. Like the dumbest of the dumb. It simply runs around in random directions, bumping into things, turning a bit, then bumping into the next thing. You can tell it to use different patterns, but they all do basically the same thing – move in a random direction until it bumps into something. I have a hallway about 20′ long. There is no setting I’ve found that allows it to go to the end of the hallway, turn around, and get the next 20′ strip.
1a) What happen is it’ll go like 5 or 6 feet into the hall, then turn in a random 90 degree direction, and go until it bops into the wall. Or a plant. Then it does it again, and again, and again.
1b) Today the battery actually died in the hallway, less than 15′ from the charger/base. Other days the battery will get low and it’ll find its’ way home from the opposite side of the house. It’s not only dumb, it’s random dumb.
2) It’s louder than I expected. A few reviews mentioned that it was quiet enough to run at night while they slept. Not sure how sound those people sleep, but no way you can hear the TV over it, much less sleep through it.
3) The dual function (vacuum/mop) feature is useless. In the time it takes to change over from vacuum to mop, you could easily do a better job with just a damp sponge mop/swiffer type mop.
3a) It’ll only do one room in mop mode anyway, and in the kitchen (for example), I can easily damp mop the area by the stove and the sink before I could change over the iLife V8s to to that room. Then do it again for each bathroom. Don’t bother.
4) It gets stuck sometimes. Twice it’s managed to find a way under the dining table and chairs, then run the battery to dead trying to find it’s way out. (Like I said, it’s a very dumb robot.)
5) A single simple stud earring can stop it. It found a cheap earring under a piece of furniture (I would not have found it until that furniture was moved) but it got stuck in the front wheel and it stopped.
6) Rubber bands or pony tail holders will stop it dead in its’ tracks. They wrap around the brushes (which work surprisingly well) and stop it.
7) It doesn’t remember anything. It doesn’t have a mapping function, so every time it runs it simply goes in random directions until the battery dies. A few times it did very well, hitting every room, then returning to the base to charge. But then the very next time it’ll spend 45 minutes in the first room and never get anywhere near the other end of the house. Like I said, it’s dumb.
Overall, it cleans well – when it eventually gets to the room you want it to clean. Or you can do like I’ve done the last 4 times, and go get it, empty the container, clean the filters, then set it down in the room you need to have cleaned. It would be faster/easier to simply grab a swiffer and do it myself instead.
I think it’s ok. If you have a one or 2 room place with hard floors, it’d be fine if you can put up with the noise. But in my downsized 1250 sq ft 3 bedroom, 2 bath house, it’s more work than it’s worth.
I’ll be returning it to find something that’s “not stupid” (shout out to any Heinlein fans who get that reference!) and knows where rooms are, and where to go to recharge.

Fácil de usar, trae su control remoto, la primera carga fue de mas o menos 4 horas y el tiempo de trabajo fue de 2 horas aprox. le he utilizado únicamente en la función de barrer, no he utilizado la función de trapear.

Fantastic buy for the price. Sweeps and mops the whole house on a charge. Very quiet and runs every day. Picks up a lot of dirt and empties itself. Would def recommend purchase.

This robot vacuum has been a total game-changer! I love how easy it is to use — just press a button and it takes care of the floors while I do other things. It picks up dust, pet hair, and crumbs with no problem, and navigates around furniture really well. I was surprised at how much dirt it collected even after I thought the floor was clean! The battery lasts a long time, and it always returns to its charging station. I honestly don’t know how I lived without it. Highly, highly recommend!

So I just got the robot, and I figured something out. It does not tell you when that does dust pan is full. Overall, I really do like the way it works, but the constant going back to home base that I have to do Manually is a lot. Because it can clean and clean and clean, and it won’t stay when the dust pan is full so it just keeps throwing out. I took out the dust thing and found small toys in there that wasn’t letting the trash to get sucked in the base.
Pros: cleans well
Doesn’t get stuck too much

I’ve only been using it for 5 days, so I can’t speak to how it will operate in the future! But what I CAN say is I freaking love it so far! I don’t normally leave reviews, but this vacuum really has impressed me. Speaking candidly, I think a lot of the reviews of this product are AI generated, so they kind of made me skeptical to buy it. But, my dog pooped on my floor and RUINED my last robot vacuum, and I desperately need a robot vacuum to do my daily maintenance throughout the week. I do the deep clean with the traditional vacuum every Saturday.
All that being said, I love all of the settings in the app. I love that it maps out the entire house, and I have the ability to name each of the rooms for the “room clean” function (where you designate the device to only clean certain rooms). With the mapping, it tries to establish a room by room structure. However, in the process of doing so, it mapped out that my bathroom and hallway were actually one room. This is an issue because the hallway is carpet and the bathroom is tile. This could interfere with the mopping function. BUT THEY SOLVED THAT TOO. You can manually separate rooms and merge rooms on the map to create a very accurate map of the layout of your home. I LOVED that.
The vacuum is very thorough and very effective. The self emptying function is great. What I also like is that you can select how thorough and how powerful you want the vacuum to be. You can even select how many times you want the device to vacuum a room. I had company this weekend, so lots of people were in and out. I had the device vacuum the most trafficked areas 3-4 times.
This has been my favorite robot vacuum so far. I would love a little help with sorting out the “scene” feature because I don’t quite understand that, but aside from that, this vacuum has been AMAZING. Would 100/10 recommend. If anything starts going amuck, I’ll update my review to reflect that 🙂

Highly recommended for hardwood floors. Absolutely love this machine. The app to custom set the house layout, schedule and modes is awesome. Not overwhelmed by pet hair anymore. The mop is a basic gloss over but still keeps peace of mind. Good during the week help. Don’t need to sweep unless behind items it can’t reach. And of course don’t forget to actually mop your floors. The money was worth this product. And I love the self emptying component- don’t have to worry about it and then with the extra supplies- we are set for a while!

Surprised by price and how well it does. Got it today and got it to work asap. It cleans well on the mop feature and vacuums well in my hard wood floored home. Great purchase.
